Sun Super Tach (1967) Wiring

I'm looking at a 10,000 RPM SST that looks exactly like the one I used to have on my '55 Chevy & '67 Chevelle back in the day, but the one I'm considering says 6 cyl 12 volt, and there is no separate transmitter with it, although I believe this early tach should go with a transmitter. I just happen to have a Sun Super Tach (9,000 RPM) with separate transmitter which specifies 12 volt 8 cylinder. I'm wondering if the tach I am considering would work with the transformer I already have. Anyone have experience with these early Sun Super Tachs?

I used to run a Sun Super Tach II, but I don't remember having a separate box.

I had a seperate box on my 66 when I bought it back in 1976. Your best bet would be to look on ebay ?
But I would hate to pay a lot for such an outdated piece.

The one I’m looking at is NOS....very tempting but it says 6 cylinder...seems strange to me. Why did Sun make a 10k rpm tach in ‘67 for a 6 banger? I just think this tach would look sweet on my ‘67 clone of my original ‘67 SS, since it had the same tach on it when I sold it!

I think the Black is ground, Red is 12v, Green goes to the - on the coil and the white wire is for back lighting.

What color is the line? Is it a blue line or green line? The face...
I thought the greens got a transmitter but the blues didn't. I have a 10k 8 cylinder tach. No box needed.
