Took Her For a Drive.

Finally took the Gold Chevelle on a little run. Before I left I gave her a quick clay bar rub and wipe down.

She was at 1/4 tank so I took her to town for some non-ethanol fill up, station is about 15 miles away. Brakes did not heat up, stopped and idled good. Filled up, gas gauge worked (replaced sender last winter). Best of all the air is blowing at 34 degrees!!!!!

It is great to have her back running as she should.

You still have R12 in it? I think the best I can get with mine with 134 is about high 40's.

I wish I could get mine a little colder, but in reality I don't need it as much as you guys down there. :giggle:

Ahh 34* A/C and 70 mph cruising is my Dream :) I'll either need a GV @ $3K+, an OD trans @ $3K+ or change rear gears to 3.31's, 3.23's or 3.08's Your cars are both all original (mostly) factory parts? 12 yrs ago when I bought our gutted 68 that was on it's way to being a race car I didn't care about ac lol, it's not climate change it's age haha

Both cars are stock and I try to use factory parts when possible. The wheels on the gold car are changed from steel and hub caps and that is about it. The Bronze car has steelies and hubcaps.

Go with a TKX 5 speed. Manual shift isn't ideal for drag racing but it sure is fun to drive.

My wife's never driven a stick, my first thoughts when I bought the car was convert it to a 4 or 5 spd till she told me she never drove a manual so I left it an auto car

My son doesn't drive manuals either, that's why the Camaro is a 4L80e. But I still have a T56 ready to swap in !

Nothing wrong with pristine old rides.
I love seeing some of these as pure stock. They are very cool.
If I had the money, I would own both.
I just prefer to hotrod the ones I drive. But pure stockers get more attention at the shows IMHO
Although my 489 is about 525 hp, it still has the cast-iron intake, quadrajet and vette air cleaner.
