1967 Chevelle SS Values Currently (August 2022)

I've studied the cost of building a solid 12 bolt, and it's just better to go with a Moser.
If you want the best, a Strange S60 with Strac helical posi costs the same. That's why I went with the Strange.
There are plenty of ways to save money, but finding someone who's going to spend weeks getting the car straight
enough for an excellent paint job is tough, and you always spend way more than you thought you would LOL

If you can spend that much, are you willing to drive it ?
I would think the value would fall a lot if you drive it much. But if you never intend to sell, why not ?
I emailed the dealer and pointed out some things that weren’t correct in the engine presentation. I haven’t heard back so he knows I know a lot about these cars especially the L78. Dealers prefer to sell to unknowledgeable buyers!

Last summer I found two ‘67 SS rollers. First was in Illinois and I talked with the owner. The car had original body panels and was primed, bench seat car but no interior or engine which was fine with me. It was a KC car to boot! The same guy pointed out another SS about an hour from me in PA. I talked with that owner as well. It just needed too much with the amount of rust it had. He ended up selling it before I made the trip down to look at it. He told me he got $18,000 for it. Amazing how little you can get for the $20,000 range!

I suppose I will know when the right car pops up. I believe patience is the key. If it happens fine, if it doesn’t that’s fine too. I really have no interest in a Malibu except for certain parts like a suitable black bench seat which I have a lead on now, as they seem to be hard to come by these days.

Or when you are not looking you find one.

Ok, I won't bother with looking at 136 cars anymore. Don't blame you ; I love that "138" on the firewall :)

Seems to me it'd be hard to find a solid Chevelle in Oh., Pa., Ky., Mi. (Im from Cinci) W/O rust issues EDIT in 76 I rode in my friends 69 Daytona Yellow L78 4 spd Chevelle that was from Pa., he hit 2nd or 3rd gear and the floor was so rusted the bucket seat I was in pulled out of the floor and laid me back into the rear seat like a recliner LOL, his dad had bought 3 SS Chevelles from someone in Pa. and had them brought down here, a 68,69 & 70 all SS396 4 spd'd but the 69 was a 375 hp and all were rusted to hell

All L78 cars were built at KC, so they were shipped anywhere that had preference. Since The other plants were on each coast, I'd suspect KC supplied cars to both Texas and Ok., but no proof of that.

The ad says it's a true SS 138. $36,000 in Sweetwater TN

How about this one? I already contacted the dealer...dreaming I know. It appears to be legit. I already corrected the seller on some things in the ad and the photos. He sent me a pic of the trim tag and it looks legit...07C ATL build

I just looked through the pics of this car & noticed right away it has a repop speedometer reading 1899 miles. The gauges in the cluster are also repops. Plus those door panels aren't high quality...they're the cheaper puffy versions. The exhaust system is not made by Gardner, which you would expect on a build like this, & uses aftermarket turbo mufflers which are the wrong length.

Don't get me wrong, this car is gorgeous & I know I'm nitpicking, but for $135K, this car should have zero issues, nor cheaper repop parts in lieu of quality GM originals...plus it should have the highest quality reproductions for pieces like the door panels & the exhaust. I know the odds of you buying this car are slim, but I just wanted to put this out there.

Yeah, the car is nice, but it's a build to spec car, and from a catalog. They lose their soul going that route. I dig the floor clock however, that rocks.
