Dug a couple explore holes to locate my water service line, sprung a leak it's under the driveway pad naturally. Getting ready to bust up half my driveway to run a new line. Lots of complications here and contractors can't be found. Gonna try a 12lb sledge and play John Henry this weekend.

Chevelle_Nut said "Days are getting shorter, makes for long nights."

Remember, "when the weather is hot and sticky, its no time for dunkin dicky, but when the frost is on the punkin, then its time for dicky dunkin" I can't remember where I heard this, but it always makes me laugh!

Only two things. :(
Bleeding the clutch on the MG Midget and fixing the switch for my antique "The Cincinnati" model 3557 disc sander.
Had to reverse bleed the MG but that seems to have worked well.
Grinder just had a broken wire to the switch.
I try to buy antique American tools any time I can.
They have typically already lasted ten times what the modern flimsy plastic junk ever will, and are SERVICEABLE!
All I had to do for the grinder was remove a few screws, not plastic rivets or glue, recut the cord and reattach the wires.
I cannot say for certain but I think this grinder may be around seventy+ years old and still a true "Beast".
You heave to grip if firmly, it is gear reduction with a lot of torque and no "Safety shield".
It will probably outlive me.

Worked on the boat, we are going to the lake this weekend. She wouldn't start. Crank, start shut off, lather rinse repeat. After checking the rotor, wiring, spark etc she fired up, ran like crap and finally worked herself out. I need to burn the old gas out of it, I think she had moisture in the carb. Running fine now.

If you have a Bosch hammer drill, this chisel bit is awesome at penetrating and breaking up a hard surface.
I had to break up concrete next to my house foundation when running underground electric lines for solar

They work great for a heavy hammer drill, such as a "macho"..... but when you're talking hundreds of sq. ft., not so much. I busted up a few sq. ft. sat morning with a 10lb sledge, then quickly ran in the house to scope out more concrete contractors. First one was a hit, he came over and agreed to tackle the job, we have a contract heading this way and hopefully his crew will be here tuesday to break it up. Then I'll have to ditch witch 100 ft and lay some wirsbo, test, then schedule the pour. I realized I'm not 30 anymore!!

Amazing how our brains still feel young, but our bodies remind us in a horrendous way we aren't.

Yessir! Out of a bit of desperation, I dug up a old receipt of the guy that busted up my driveway 27 yrs back. He was in his late 20s then, and swung a 12lb hammer and hand loaded all the chunks in his flatbed over the course of 6 hours, probably 800 sq. ft. Dude was a stallion. Surpriseingly, he's still doing concrete work, just not flatwork. He remembered my job, laughed, then said...."yeah, I wore younger man's clothes back then"......so true of all us. I did sheetrock the lid of the garage in my investment house last year by myself with nothing more than a ladder and a t-pole......won't even do that again.

Just went with Lisa to her checkup from the brain surgery last year (yes, it's been just a little over a year), and Dr. Guerrero viewed her MRI and gave her a clean bill of health and scheduled an appointment for 2 years just to keep check on her. This Dr is one of the best we've ever had the pleasure to have known, and he was personally invested in helping Lisa. A true gift from God.

That's great news.

Beat my head against the figurative "Wall".
Big news here is that the county just approved two new large "Green energy" projects.
I expect the energy produced will be going to CA, our local needs are met by a modest Geothermal facility.
But part of the deal is that the construction phase will pay 150% of "Prevailing wage".
OK, I despise the whole concept and know it is a scam, proven by it's only having a twenty-five year life.
Yep, in twenty-five years it all gets torn down.
Got contact info from the county and began making calls again, still attempting to reach the Human Resources departments.
No one answers, leave a message.
I have already done this dance.
Seems the "Contacts" are basically fake, the address I found list two hundred and fifty companies at that same location.
So the real address is somewhere else.
I also contacted the local temp agencies, they are not involved.
But these mega-companies are the sort whining that they cannot find American workers so must have more immigration!

UPDATE: One of the companies finally responded to my email.
I should have known it is all smoke and mirrors, in fact it will probably never happen but investors (Suckers!) will be fleeced. I wonder what the kick-back to our county commissioners comes to?
"The Winston Solar Project in Wabuska is still several years from being designed and constructed. Currently, those efforts on the project are anticipated to being around the 2026 timeframe. The hold up is that it cannot go online until NVE completes its Greenlink projects.
