I had one of these from 81 to around 83 or 4 when my first wife filled the trans dipstick to the top with motor oil, mine was like new though, pale yellow (yuk) with a tan vinyl top & int. 350 engine with 350 trans and man what a great car, even had ice cold ac which I wasn't use to back then lol, swapped on a 76 T/A that was also a great car, didn't let the wife touch anything under the hood after that

One of my best friends has a '75 Cutlass S that his parents bought new. His dad ordered it with all the 442 options except the badging.
I knew another guy in the early 90's that had a '75 Hurst Olds with a 455 that was pretty badass too.

Iirc mine was an S or Supreme but I dont't remember what year it was, wife DD it and I had a 68 F100 short bed fleet side that I dropped a 68 428 CJ in, was a 360 3 on the tree then when the 360 took ill I thought I bought a JY 390 but turned out a 428 CJ that kept breaking motor mounts in the truck 😁 Edit I just re read Toms thread and thinking mine was a 76 after reading my reply in that thread, dont know what year the beat up grey one is but sure reminds me of the one I had, then 40 years is a long time lol

I bought a brand new one in August of 1974 off the showroom floor. It was white with blue landau top , white upholstery and white wheels. A beautiful car. I should have kept it but was enamored with getting a Corvette.

the mid 70's to low 80's didn't get a lot of love I'm guessing mostly due to EPA and SMOG during that time. I think they had some nice lined bodies.

Yes, especially the 75 Hurst Olds.
Ever notice that NOTHING aside from complete extinction of the ICE will ever be enough for the green minded dolts in all ABC agencies. Be nice if they'd focus on legal migration into this country and at an equal pace from all around the world. Any border crossing at other than a designated port of entry should be punishable by an automatic 30 years hard labor. That might stop the drug business coming into the country.

74 Vettes looked great IMO and the engines were still decent runners, my neighbor friend had a silver anniversary ? I think it was called for yrs then one day a flat bed was loading it up so I walked over and asked you sending it to get fixed? (It had some minor BS prob) he said no I sold it for $2,500 ...😳 I said Id of bought it for that, another Oh Well deal lol

I put a shift kit in the Vette and had the distributor recurved and the Q’jet richened up. Had a lean stumble once the other work was done. It ran low 15s after that which was pretty respectable for the new cars of the day. That was full street trim.

For the Olds Cutlass owners of the mid 70's generation, the Olds Cutlass got the best reviews of all the mid sized cars of the Collonade era. That's going up against the Dodge Chargers and corinthian leather plymouths and the ford Thunderturds and mercury's along with the usual GM A-body's of that era.The Cutlass got the best reviews from Car & Driver, Motor Trend and Consumer Reports too.
People loved them and bought lots of them.Coincidence or whatever they were also the winning body style till Nascar forced the teams to use the new downsized 1978 GM midsized cars that were in the showrooms for a year before the teams put them on the track.
(back then the Nascar teams could run a body style for 2 years after they hit the showroom floors)
