    Update on my Radiator Project

Still waiting to hear from the Radiator Shop....not in a hurry, but I just hope they can rebuild it! 🙏 In the meantime I've been busy cleaning the front of the car which is much easier with the radiator out. Gonna install a new "old" T-3 Low Beam as well. I think I'll install new radiator...

R.I.P, Sir...you were a great Team Player, passing off likely as much as shooting and excellent at BOTH!!!

    Update on my Radiator Project

Fact is newer stuff done properly would likely be better overall quality too!

    Update on my Radiator Project

Yup, my L78 ‘67 had a finger guard only like this one. I wish I had more pics but I did take 3 back in the day....one when the car was new! Notice the valve covers have drippers (see the dimples?). My repro radiator is very similar to the Harrison, but a knowledgeable Chevelle person will...

    Update on my Radiator Project

There’s a great research article on TC by Jeff Helms that explains the part numbers, sizes, etc. I believe Chevelle Stuff also discusses Harrison Radiators. I was disappointed mine wasn’t the original one but it’s a 4 row with a shroud which cools way better than stock no doubt!

    Update on my Radiator Project

Well, I took my US Radiator (4 Row) to my local shop today. I met the guy who has been there for many many years, so fingers crossed he can repair the leak and make it as good as new! While it's out I'm gonna dive in and do a few things while access is easier in the front of the car! Like...

    Update on my Radiator Project

Been looking at Ground Up and OPGI, both show 4 core Radiators as direct replacements for my '67 Chevelle that match original design look. So, the radiator I have is likely one of those. I'm looking into other accessories, like the drain cock, overflow tubing, etc. but I think I will get it to...

    Update on my Radiator Project

I managed to get the radiator out yesterday. The lower hose removal was a struggle but I finally got it off. I think I will install a new hose and fittings when reinstalling the radiator. Ok, here’s the deal: So far, I cannot find any part numbers or stampings on this radiator! Ugh! There...

Getting Ready to Pull My Radiator....Questions

Thanks for the tips everyone. I got to thinking about the tranny fluid....it's likely fine - it indeed looks like tranny fluid and I doubt it's burnt. Car drives too well to have a problem there. The hoses don't look old, so I will try to loosen up the lower hose, as suggested. I'm anxious...

Getting Ready to Pull My Radiator....Questions

Well, I dug in today and I’m about ready to lift the radiator out except for one thing! ..... The lower hose is stuck and of course it’s harder to get at as opposed to the upper hose. It looks like I may have to destroy the tower clamp so I can wrestle the hose off the radiator! Any thoughts...

Getting Ready to Pull My Radiator....Questions

Thanks Kevin! I couldn’t remember the name of the PB Blaster....my oldest son used that when restoring his 1981 DeLorean and it does work well!!

Getting Ready to Pull My Radiator....Questions

I may have mentioned this before, but my very original ‘67 Chevelle SS has many original parts including the radiator (looks like a stock 3 core Harrison for a TH400). My radiator guy local to me is old school so I’m anxious to get this radiator to him for a rebuild. It has a very slight leak...

    What’d you work on today?

Chased chipmunks much of the day...setting traps and trying different things to rid our place of the little bastards! They're NOT cute anymore! HA! I'm about ready to buy the JAWS of Death Trap to put along our foundation. I just want it to do the job so the little Dudes don't suffer! Any...

Bought a new mower a couple days ago.

I'm a John Deere guy....have a self-propelled walk behind that they don't even make any longer (aluminum deck with a 6 HP Kawasaki Engine)...that thing is 25 years old and starts immediately with the first pull! Incredible machine. I think they stopped making it because they lasted too long...

    Summer's here.....

Well, it’s a balmy 70* here in PA with 35% Humidity, so I can’t complain. Hope it stays this way for a bit because it can get very hot here in the Summer! In Florida inland isn’t as balmy as being along the Gulf coast, but as you know it’s way more private & laid back inland!

30 yr-old PGA Tour golfer drops dead

The COVID Vax immediately came to mind!!!!.....hope we will sometime in the future actually find out the TRUTH! Covid was scary enough but I lost my job due to the office closing (as required!), then within 2 years I get this off the wall auto-immune disease I'm dealing with (thought it might...

Prayers needed for the Bennett & Dowling Families

My wife has an extended family on her Mother’s side (the Bennett family of Blackshear, Georgia). They are wonderful people comprised of a large & loving family, my wife Judy’s Mom was 1 of 4 sisters and 4 brothers. So, there are many cousins as a result, some which we have sadly lost already...
