    Chevelle project update

Installed andmwired in the thermostatic switch for the fan. It was just a matter of routing the ground from the relay through the switch. Pretty simple but I had to unwrap and rewrap part of the harness.

Anyone done a 4spd auto conversion and installed a vacuum TC lockup?

So I’m thinking, is it really simple like adding a vacuum switch in place of the manual switch? I had a manual switch before. I still have the Single wire plug for the transmission. I’m thinking the vacuum switch and the cruise brake switch may be all I need.

    Planet Fitness

Planet Fitness has always been run by assholes. They have a “no judgement zone” where they harshly judge people who actually want to work out instead of prance around and eat pizza.

    Chevelle project update

Finally got the VSS wired up. What a pain. Had to pull the dash bezel. But it works. I ended up using the power feed for the radio since I don’t plan to put one in. I had already used it for something else so I doubled up. Should be ok I think. Of course, there was a puddle of power...

    Chevelle project update

Maybe, although routing the wire might be more difficult. I ordered a center inlet housing so it should work. Meanwhile, the fuel sender I waited 4 days to get turned out to be bad so I'm going to go to Autozone tomorrow, which I should have done the first time. I put a tester on the signal...

    Chevelle project update

Here is why this is taking so long. Just got the temp sender for the electric fan but before I can install it and wire it up I have to replace the angled water neck with one that comes straight out because the upper hose goes right over the top of the boss I need to use. May need to also...

Show me yer plug wire setup, pretty please

Just wondering what others are using to keep the plug wires off the headers. I’ve got some generic 4-3-2 keepers but theydon’t tidy it up well and don’t fit right. I kind of like the ones that encase The wires in a channel that runs parallel to the valve covers. Don’t know if it alters but...

Might have posted about this before but my transmission screeches

I didn’t check them before I put the engine back in but they had been torqued the first time and not removed. I also can’t see anything obvious looking at it while the engine is running. My concern is it might be something internal in thr TC or transmission has broken or come loose?

Mostly in park but it does it at idle in gear. Once the car gets going it goes away

I can’t remember that far back. This combo was installed in the car In 2005. All I did for the resto was pull it out and stick it in a corner of the garage. It had no issues over the course of a year including a trip to CB and a couple to shows In Arkansas

    Bad float on fuel sender?

I‘ll look at it, but if it’s not the original to the car it’s from the same era. Strainer on the intake just crumbled in my hands. I think it’s time

    Bad float on fuel sender?

I reused the old one which had been working fine. I took it out today and the float works fine but testing it with the ohm meter I found it was functioning intermittently, so I ordered a replacement

Seems to be the opposite. Goes away under load and at higher RPM

Screeching sound coming from the TC area. Like maybe a flywheel rubbing on a metal shield, or a brake rotor rubbing on a dust shield, that sort of sound. Sometimes it’s a chirp, sometimes it doesn’t do it, sometimes it’s continuous. It’s clear watching it spin while running that the flex...
