correct coolant temperature switch and gauge sending unit

I want to keep functional idiot lights in the Malibu but I also installed the SS style gauges in my Malibu stock speedo cluster. This thing:
1966-67-gauge-conversion-package (except I got the volt meter, not ammeter).
I'm looking for a correct temp switch to run the idiot lights. They look very similar to the gauge sending units. I see several switches available from Rockauto. It's not clear to me at what temp these things activate. Seems like that would be important. There was a switch sold on Amazond that's listed as being or my car but in the reviews a guy said it activated at like 185 degrees which seems awfully low. I think my thermostat is 180s or so, and since I'm putting the switch in the head, it'll sense hotter than where the thermostat is.
Am i over thinking this? Just buy whatever?

Here's the Amazon product that looks good on paper but some guys says switch activates at 185.
ref=sr_1_2

These also don't list the thread size and look a little skinny making me nervous that they won't thread into the head. IIRC, stock heads have 1/2 thread and newer aftermarket heads (I have Edelbrock heads) and 3/8 NPT.

THanks

I’d contact Ausley and ask what sending units work best with the gauge kit you bought, you can then look up their part numbers, cross ref them and find best price or however you like to buy them

This one lets you choose your thread size and on/off temps. I think on at 200, off at 185 sounds good??
I have a 180 degree thermostat. The only higher temp option goes on at 210.

Probably but I don’t see why they wouldn’t also work to activate an idiot light. I’m guess they are essentially the same thing.

Actually looking at their reviews, they seem pretty bad. Lots of mentions of inaccuracy and failures.

I really don’t know if they work the same but guess it’s possible

I used an adjustable Hayden sensor, wonder if that’d work? But it wasn’t what I’d consider inexpensive
