I dont really know what to say as some us here have had our differences with dean. I did get along with him many years back so RIP for what its worth

Dean reminded me of my current next-door neighbor.
Hard working self-made man who thought it was still 1962.
JFK was the president, democrats were for the working man and republicans were for the rich guy.
It's amazing how many of these are still around and hate Trump.

While I did not personally meet or converse with him on a one to one basis, I believe his intentions were based on what he thought was fair regardless of what others thought. I do not share fond memories of any kind about him and found him to be hypocritical.
That being said, I wish no ill harm on the man or his memory, and will pray for his family to find peace. I was not going to write any comment, but that would serve to only harm myself for not accepting or forgiving him, so I admit it is a bit selfish on my part.

I really dreaded hearing this, I always liked Dean, and for the most part he never did anything to discipline me over on TC and most of my times dealing with Him was earlier around 2000 -2005 and in those days he was very helpful to me.

I got banished from ocs for discussing high gas prices in a thread, politely too. it was supposed to be for a week until dean saw i was hanging out here so it got adjusted to permanent. I was active on ocs since 1999. it made no sense whatsoever
Power corrupts and it doesn't take long to find out which ones are easily corruptible.
We had a member that was 180 degrees wrong about the Ukraine War and tried to ban me for disagreeing with him.
Too many Barney Fifes in this world.
But all of us have abused somebody sometime. It's good to be aware of our shortcomings.

Same here, cant remember his name, except Dildino, he ran to Dean crying because, I called him a sheeple. Dean warned me and I never said anything to Dean.
I knew it was Dildo and called him out (in CE) and he cried again. Dean banned me for a month but saw me here. End of story.
Now...
I dont miss it...AT ALL!

What really grinds me is how these totalitarian admins can take away a "gold lifetime membership" without a hearing from a group of admins.
Because no one is watching them, they get to abuse people they don't like in private, all the while keeping up the appearance of a "nice guy."
And hidden at the source of their dislike is they are liberals. They are the ones allowing the destruction of our hobby by standing by while the EPA and democrats regulate our hobby out of existence.
We were never allowed to raise awareness or point out that we were on the road to destruction.
It's maddening to me.

OCS signed their own fate when they (admins and moderators) decided to tighten the grip of control. It was once a vibrant site and now just a shell of what it once was. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
I love this site and stand proud of what we have built together. Don't care what others say or call our site, we have something that will never be silenced and with the exception of a few dirtbags, the site maintains itself with no problems to deal with.
It's called mutual respect which is something lacking on OCS. We can voice our opinions freely, swear, call out injustices, and even disagree, but the respect remains. Beat that OCS.

I obviously was fully aware of how many were treated by merely expressing political views, which very much can include our car hobby!....in addition to general politics, we were not treated very well....period!

The problem started when they became Canadian owned and fell under the oversight of the communiost Canadian government. That is when the mods got giddy with power, espercially Rich.
I think there was more to it than that, I'm on a couple other forums owned by the same company & the have no problem with politics so it was just a couple guys that took it on themselves I think.
One thing we all know : libs can't handle an open and fair discussion of facts because they always lose.
That's why Current Events was shut down.
They never won an argument and it exposed their stupidity.
