It's seen a fair bit of salt and I'd be suspect of the frame. Before you even consider it, dig into the frame. The rest seems to be easy repairs. Next check the anti freeze out to see how bad it looks after sitting for so long. That'll give you an indication of how deep you'll need to go.

From what I can see the frame looks pretty good.
I don’t trust it. Body has been switched out. I don’t think it’s worth $20k.

When I first got there I was thinking $13k. DIL is telling her friend it’s not what it is.

Me too. It’s a 2 wheel drive. Someone swapped the frame to 4 wheel. Not sure what to do yet.
How will you legally title it? Or if it’s already titled what if some day it comes up stolen if you are involved in an accident?

I did think of that. It’s registered now and he brought it from someone he knows. I knew a lot of guys that had these trucks back in the 70’s and 80’s and they would charge out bodies and frames. I also know some were stolen for parts. One girl I know still has her truck rumored to be stolen but her father owned a garage and she has a repair plate and never had it registered. Sooo….?
I’m asking more questions.

I’d hate to spend good $ only to have it impounded because of VIN/frame swapping, and if something came back stolen who knows what could happen? And nothing at all might happen, or not happen, my luck I’d be bleeding $ for Atty’s

I see this happening all the time with no issues. I plan on doing this on a C20 chevy. Frame swaps happen everywhere. Anyone know of this being an issue first hand?

Frame swaps never (unless it's a classic that's supposed to be matching numbers). Now cab and vin swaps? Yes, there are issues. Had an issue on my chevelle that they added in an extra B in the vin (Baltimore built), and had to have it authenticated by the police, then by FDMV. Got it resolved ad they fixed the VIN on the title, but I would have been out $4,500 had it not been verifiable.

I know that when I first had my chevelle inspected, they checked the vin on the door and that was it.
They did question why there was a screw holding the tag on the door jam but, that was it.
I`m going to check the vin on the frame and run that.

Hopefully, no problems.
It`s a beautiful truck and you don't find them in this condition.
I asked a few questions over on the Ford truck site and they say it was common practice to swap out frames "here in the north east".

Why can't they get it out of the garage and run it ? Does the ac still work ?
I wouldn't make a bid unless i could hear it run and engage/disengage the 4wd.
