I've had this sitting for 30 years.Same here. 20+ years ago I remember the Car Craft and HotRod builds of 400 engines and people saying “they’re still out there in the junk yards.” Narrator: “They weren’t out there.” And that was 25 years ago.

Where are you located again? (The engine, not Kevin.)24 hrs. by Google. 1684 miles.
Probably 40 years ago you'd do it, maybe. I did it once about that far long ass day & longer night. And a flat ass.... driving the NC wipes me out. Bet it'd cost a fortune to ship.

I don't know how much it would be now. Last time I shipped heads was 11 years ago.
I've got a pretty nice oem cast crank for the 400......free of course. Not sure how you'd get it there. I've got a crate sent with a bbc head that's still here and might fit, I'll check if you'd think that'd be in the cards. Also have a set of .030 pistons and factory rods I'd toss in the box.
Crank, rods and block are worth it IMHO$900 is more than I want to spend since I wouldn't want the heads.

You need to buy pistons anyway
Bare blocks that are stock bore bring close to $1000
