HOTCHKIS REAR SWAR BAR/SPORT SUSPENSION

I’m posting a positive report on a trouble-free install of a Hotchkis rear sway bar. My apologies that I cannot remark on the performance improvement now as my ole girl isn’t running now, so I’ll include an update. I installed the same brand on my 69 GTO years ago where it bolted directly to the inside of the lower trailing arms. This model was updated to use “dog bone” brackets that connect the bar to the trailing arms. My Chevelle has a Curry Enterprise Ford 9” rear axle - no problems. I didn’t like the U bolts and brackets being silver, so I painted everything black.

I installed a 1" sway bar and it bolts to the lower arms but not to the axle housing ?
I wonder if bolting to the rear end housing will affect the ride ? The stock sway bar didn't ; at least I don't think it did ?

I think the above bar isn't a sway bar but an anti roll bar, I didn't think those attached to the lower trailing arms? I have a stock 1970 SS sway bar on my 68 Malibu and it doesn't connect to the axle housing

Onlysog,
Thanks for sharing. I have the same style of bar as Beth. Probably a Hellwig brand bar that attached to my home boxed stock lower
control arms.

On the bar above, I see that it’s essentially a “U” shaped bar attacked to the car’s rear end with end links that point up. When do those end links connect to the car? Is there a reason that style of bar would be better than the other?
