What?? The distribution system can't handle it?

But, I thought the government had this all figured out?

Hopefully the dripping sarcasm didn't get anyone messy....

We are starting to see more of this. Gee, I wonder why the PWR Comp. are having such a hard time with this?!. Whatever ! Of course there is going to be hard-ache. Its their grid. Same thing is happening in other states. States are pushing Renewable Energy (RE) and this will put the power company mostly out of of business. Sure they will maintain some control but will lose lots of jobs. The other issue is the grid is like a water pipe. You can only shove so much water through a 1" pipe. Same for energy. You'd have to dial back Grid PWR Plant levels to allow more RE in the pipe. Still the problem is RE isnt at that level to produce and supply the needed levels to push this much power.

We will see more of this in the next few years. It will come to a limit and the GOVT will have no other plans other than scale back their plans as they realize the infrastructure just isn't there. Oh, and your power bills will continue to climb.

I think when it comes to prepping many of us concentrate on food, heat and water. Power generation is expensive and because of that not prioritized.

I guess when you get down to it, the basic needs are what dictate where to concentrate.

For us, it started with water and a way to keep food cold, and a sustainable power source to keep that food cold that would work for many years without the need for intervention, thus solar was the key.

Next was immediate food supplies and then long term food supplies. While some would say I've gone overboard, I like to think of myself as prepared for a series of bad events.

I didn't just plan for my wife and I (and my son still living with us), but for all of our kids to come here and for us to be able to sustain everyone (including their significant others).

Now you can see the purpose behind putting up the greenhouse so we could provide for long term sustainability.
