Saw the elusive 1965 Malibu SS L-79 with the very very rare engine stamp of F0120EB.
I looked at it pretty good but, I wasn't sure of the stamp.
He asked me if I saw something I liked and I said I liked the L79. He said not many people know that. I said I know a little.
Very nice car.
I would never had said anything if I looked the numbers up while I was there anyway. I`m not like that unless I was buying.
It was dressed the part but, when I got back home I checked the numbers....something didn't add up.
Wish I brought my camera.

Was it this guy ?
He was at the Northern Ohio Chevelle Club show in Cleveland.
It was very nice :

I'm not picking on you Beth, but I spoke with the Chevelle gods and they all agreed I must correct that,.......the 65 Z16 was a L37 engine, a hydraulic lifter 375hp 396. Only year, only model. Not a L78, which was only used in the Corvette and b-body that year.

Yep, same as L78 but hydraulic lifter. What's the premium for a L79 65 Malibu ? $5000 extra ?
Did they have a cool air cleaner like the Chevy II dual snorkel ?
Looks like it was similar
