Grid architecture..

The issue with interconnected microgrids is: "Who has control of the distribution?". As in can they control my electrical loads (washers, stoves, etc) through the cell phone system? Through your internet connection?

I didn't look at the video, but I suspect what you are implying is exactly what they want and I've suspected that for some time. Full control over what you use and how you use it and more concerning is limiting what's available to you.

When I originally was looking to put in a whole house generator, my biggest concern was fuel cost, availability, and potential limits of fuel which drove me to installing off grid solar. I never applied for solar credits as I don't want the government trying to force restrictions on what I can do with my system, or that I would have to feed back to the grid to help with the loads others were using. I own my own power and no one can dictate how I use it, unless they figure out a way to tax the use of the sun.

Pretty interesting. Then you are relying on a world or whole grid. It would be like today with another country controlling your fuel supply. Your power would go up or down pending worlds supply which they could turn off. More of a reason to have your own.

To many hands in the pot.

But you did take the 26% tax write-off for the purchase of your equipment ? :)
