If you don't do anything yourself ?
If you look at the car it needs a lot, and there are missing items.

Have you priced body and paintwork? Ask BlueSS454 and see what he thinks it will cost.

Look at the dash, radio has been cut so it will need a new dash and reproductions only come in black.

Body needs to come off the frame and be blasted and painted along wit the body. Where are the engine pics?

IDK about you but after 3 frame off restorations I am done with pulling the body off frames, just don't have the space for it. Last one I did I had parts everywhere, stuffed in every corner I could find.

What did you do 3 frame-offs on ? That's a huge expense that's rarely recovered.
And why would you drive a frame-off car ?

69 Chevelle 4 door, Gold 72 Chevelle, Midnight Bronze 72.
Expenses never recovered, all part of the hobby but still own 2 of the 3 cars. I drive them because that is what cars are there for, can't take it with you.
It is cheaper to buy a completed car than to do a restoration. Mind you, I don't care about Concourse quality, I have cars for fun.

I replaced every bolt, bushing, mounts, clean the suspension parts, etc but would never do a frame-off. Just doesn't make sense to me if you drive them.
But I bet they look nice underneath !
I forgot that I did remove the partial frame on the 68 Camaro vert and had it powder coated. But it was easy on that type of car and cost almost nothing.

Pretty much any car you go full monte on is a losing investment. I'm of the camp that doesn't do it to regain my investment, and that's with doing the work myself. Moneywise, I can get the numbers to work, but the labor won't ever be recouped. That's not of any concern to me, as it's just a hobby for me. If you finished the body yourself, added another grand to the interior and got it presentable, you could be okay if you just wanted to be okay. That's always a waste of time from my outlook. I'd finish it to drive it, then I'd want to add stuff that could never be recouped, and that's fine too. I don't think the price is too out of line.....if the body is close. Yakima is about 180 miles away.
Going to check this one out in an hour.......

Same money as the chevelle, but wayyyyy cooler. Hasn't been on the road/track since '76.

Agree. There are ways to minimize the loss. You know what a certain car will be worth before ever starting on the restoration.

Wow, I found that car on Marketplace. Very cool

Not that I've never liked body work I don't have a clue how to do it lol, mechanical? I tackle anything but getting deep into an auto trans, we lifted my 68 high enough to replace the bushings, air scaled the floor & frame, what was accessible, that Javelin is Cool 👍👍

just got home from the AMX viewing. Seller's a straight up guy, car' a bit rougher than I'd hoped, but all fixable for a street brute but imo not worthy of restoration, because of the quarters being radiused and the hood cut. It's fairly solid, solid enough to fix several things, make the engine worthy, brakes redone, headliner, fr. bumper replaced and you're there. Got him down to 12.5, but I'm still not sold yet.

Me neither, I do some little stuff to pull dents etc. It takes patience and I am impatient.
