Madiera Maroon code N paint

I've only seen that color in person once and it was beautiful.

I have a family member that does custom high-end paint jobs here locally. When someone needs a match to old paint, there is place they go with a scanner and have the color scanned in multiple areas to get an average of color to spot paint.

Most any jobber can mix it up with that code. The base/clear will make it appear a bit different, some like, some don't.
I need to check around but I have a couple vendors say that they didn’t keep paying for the licenses(maybe) so they can only go back to 1985 colors. It looks like a solid color but some say it’s metallic because it’s a poly I don’t know what it is.

Sounds like BS to me. My vendor had no problem mixing up Marina Blue for my 67.

The older metallics used a very small metallic, some probably don't have it. Yes, poly is a metallic. Check outside your area, or try TCP global. Maybe Tom R will add some insight. I've never had to order paint online, but it may be the simple solution.

My local paint & body supply didn't have any problem mixing mulsane blue I think its code is 26, also called different names in GM divisions, I had 2 65 Impalas that color and it is a beautiful color, I remember it as a solid

The entire car so it doesn’t need to be exact , I just need to find out if it has metallic or not. Looks solid to me.
The supplier here is Byrd's Automotive and they are also in Huntsville and Birmingham.
Give them a call to see how competitive they are with online sales.

UreChem paint in Mississippi say they can mix the 65 Impala Madeira Maroon which is the same color that I’m looking for. I think they sell online from The Coating Store.com. I’m going to look into

The Coating Store say they can mix the 65 Impala Madeira Maroon for me.

Let us know the final cost. I always hear how expensive it's getting.
I have to paint my Camaro soon (basecoat-clearcoat).

Found something close to the maroon that I’m looking for so we got a sample and did a spray out. The top and bottom are the same sample only difference is the top was sprayed over gray sealer and the bottom was sprayed over black sealer , amazing how different it looks. I think the dark maroon is close to what I’m looking for.

Huge difference, when I had a 76 T/A painted candy apple red in the mid 80's we went with a silver base instead of gold, big difference in how it turned out but we liked it better

All that card is telling you is you have far too little paint on there. Reds are transparent even with the best of paints. I have 5 coats of red base on my Vette and used a spray out card, which almost had 100% cover but I had to stop at 5 coats because I was was running out of paint. Could have easily used another coat. I sprayed the doors and hood off the car and in the perfect lighting and angle, it's a slight bit noticeable. You want to minimize that, so do a spray out card before you move to the actual car and you'll be able to better estimate how much paint to buy. If you're going to cut it short, don't panel paint the car, paint the jambs, assemble, reverse tape, and spray the entire assembled car.
