Running movie and TV thread.

Kathy got me into watching a Netflix series with her "Mindhunter" it's set in the mid to late 70's about how the FBI started learning how to Profile, not to bad and I haven't lost interest while watching, I had started watching another Netflix series called "Nemesis" but it got a bit over the top after 3-4 shows

Rip started out in typical fashion.
Does it bother anyone else that Rip stumbled on an innocent kid's body who was brutally murdered and disposed of it without calling the sheriff ?
This is the hero of this series ?
I was already bored at the story line and now the writer's have made Rip a thug.
Pissed at Taylor Sheridan and anything he does (n)

This looks really good. Martin Short is one of my favorites.
On Netflix : The Martin Short Documentary

His SNL Christmas show with Paul McCartney is a classic

Star Wars movie (Mandalorian and Grogu) getting dominated at the box office in only its second week by low buck horror movie. Backrooms was reportedly made for $10 million and Obsession was made for $750,000.

Coming in September : Mark Wahlberg plays a mobster who helps the FBI solve KKK murders in the south back in the 50's-60's ?
Looks like a "Charles Bronson" vigilante story of taking the law into your own hands.
Looks like fun
:)

I gave Nikita a try on Tubi (they have tons of movies and shows for free, but with commercials). I got through the first season, but season 2 turned dumb. I won't be finishing it.

That looks good. I like Wahlberg. I’ll check it out.

The supergirl movie is fixin’ to drop and projections are bomb-city. To copy Marvel Studios “MCU”, this is the second movie in DC Comics “DCU” after Superman from last year that underperformed. Instead of making Supergirl a “good girl” aspirational type, sounds like they’ve chosen to make her more of a “party girl” I guess to appeal to young people who aspire to be degenerates. She looks hung over in some of the images I’ve seen.

True to form the lead actress has been out attacking men and especially “Christian Dads” especially. So fuck her. I can’t see why these movies studios are willing to throw millions of dollars at some easily replaceable, “mid” actress and not put in a contract “avoid politics and don’t attack your core audience before the movie.” But at least I know where she stands so I can choose to support her movie or not support her movie. The victimhood some of these assholes wear on their sleeves is bizarre as hell. Complete alternative universe stuff.

First week projections are abysmal. It’ll make the recent Star Wars bomb look like a massive hit.

Woke TV commercials:

1. Local Bay Area commercial for a Angie’s List type service. Two 30-something guys are talking on the phone from their homes, one guy clearing just moving into a new home:
“Hey, who did you get to hang your flat screen TV?”
“I’ll text you HER number.”
Lol, OK “guys”

2. Smokey the Bear commercial #1. Young woman and 2 young men are camping by the lake. Men are pouring a pitcher of water on the now smoldering campfire.
Woman corrects them “you need to pour [water], stir and pour again. Don’t want to start a fire, right?”
Men “where’d you learn that?”
They then march off on a hike, woman confidently in the lead and the men single file behind her.

3. Smokey the Bear commercial #2. Man towing his boat or trailer into a park. Woman in hiking clothes corrects him and shows him how to adjust his safety chains so they aren’t dragging on the ground. He’s forever grateful because he’s been dragging those MFer all over the road all this time, sparking up massive forrest fires.

4. Nissan (?) SUV commercial. Young couple is driving their SUV all over, doing outdoorsy stuff.
They’re rappelling into a cravass. She’s on the ground slightly annoyed because he’s still dangling helplessly in the air, not being as good as she is obviously.
Same commercial, they drive by two brown cows in a field and man says:
“Are those buffalo?!”
Woman give him a very concerned look: “Baby, those cows.”

Those are the ones that annoy me the most, but really every commercial is based on an incompetent, usually overweight, completely unmasculine character and his uber smart, ultra competent wife.

I get what your feeling, really I do.......I just absolutely enjoy laughing out loud so the world can hear me when this type of commercial comes on.
I can see the reality of the soy-boy idiots being sponges for practical knowledge, but my hysteria lies with the producers that see it this way.
