Nice car but who would drive something like that ? And really thrash it ?
I'm glad someone does to preserve the history and put them in museums.

Don't think with average means......think with buko buck means, the finances that could buy an island, a city block, or a loaded airport hanger........now does that car's owner driver it? Yes, but only when they care to, the degradation doesn't bother them one bit. I met a pro photographer last year that took care of a very wealthy man's car collection that may have been worth well over 100 million, he didn't drive his GT40, but the kid did.

That kind of "investment" is mainly to impress others (if you don't drive it much). Sucks as an "investment" ; costs money to maintain and doesn't go up very fast at all.
Now if he bought it to drive it and enjoy it and doesn't care that it goes down in value , that's the correct attitude IMHO.

You never know.....maybe the buyer had an exact car back in the day and sold it (like I did.....selling my ultra rare ‘67 L78 SS....1 of only 612 built). I couldn’t afford one today! Maybe this guy had deep pockets so he’s likely happy with the purchase, or he wouldn’t have bid on it! 🥴. I say “good for him”!
