Need source for 65w spot lights for garage strip lighting

In my detached garage I have one wall full of posters, pictures, vintage car parts, and memorabilia. I use a lighting strip (tract lighting) on the sloped ceiling which light up the wall and workbench below.

I’ve had incandescent spot lights since the garage was built in 2004, and I’ve rarely had to replace any bulbs. But over the past couple of years slowly they all are burning out! One reason is my son’s car has been in there being restored so the lights are on more than usual.

I keep buying replacement spotlights when I can find them, but they don’t last a couple of months if that!!!!! They’re crap!

So, would it make sense to go with a LED spot light or do they even make such a thing? The tract has about 18 or 20 lights (with hoods) attached currently.

Maybe I should keep trying incandescent? These are spot lights not flood lights!

Any ideas appreciated?

Thanks,

John

I have LED spots and floods scattered around my place. Make sure you get the warm bulbs otherwise it's sharp on the eyes and doesn't look good (in my opinion).

What I did was go to Lowes, but a number of them (all warm white) and some were harsher than others, but if I recall correctly, I bought Sylvania for full size cans and mini cans, and also spots and floods outside.

The Sylvania's seem to have the closest look to incandesent, but they were a "sharper cleaner light". I returned the rest and just buy those when I need to (but haven't had to replace any yet).

Yeah, I've always liked Sylvania too, even in my old cars! I'll check at Lowe's, etc. I just have zero experience with LED's...I hope the cost has come down on those babies! Thanks Kevin.

When I bought them 4 years ago they weren't cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for. If I recall, they were like 20 something a piece.

LED spot type bulbs are popular, I have some in the back yard that are yellow, front yard green and they light up really well and dont bother my neighbors when they light up in the middle of the night just be sure to get either indoor or outdoor rated and the color of white you like, I like bright white that I can dim, 11 in the Kit/dining room on 3 dimmers
