We bought this truck new a couple of weeks ago, she is going on her first camping trip this weekend. We have driven it the 1000 mile break in recommended before towing, last weekend we took Mom in it to see Dad's gravesite which is a majority of its miles.

The Excursion could pull the camper but it was just to heavy for it, even after upgrading springs and the hitch it just wasn't handling as well as it should, the trailer was pushing in turns and was porpoising on the highway. The Excursion was also making me do roadside repairs way to often, seemed like once a trip, usually something turbo related so we decided to upgrade, the Excursion isn't going anywhere, just does not have as many towing duties. She dragged the camper border to border and coast to coast, never once leaving us stranded, just inconvenienced.

Believe it or not this is my first pickup truck, there are advantages and disadvantages to a truck, yes it will be doing truck stuff but most of my hauling will still be done on the trailers and stuff that needs to be dry will be in the Excursion.

She's a Beaut,,Clark? 😁 my dad refused to ride in my brand new 09 Ram because I didn't buy a Ford lol, they refused my haggling 😆 Dodge let me haggle or think I was anyway 🤣 are you a Ford brand large vehicle person or not a brand person? Myself I really don't care as long as I think Im getting my monies worth, dad did ride in my truck when he called for a ride from a paint shop once when he took his black Lexus for a repaint, Econo paint shop and the manager owed me $500 for ac work but he said he didn't know it was my dad and to late to make a better deal, or play with his pencil to make it look like he was making a deal to pay off that $500, I never did get it and dad was frowning when he seen me pull up in the Ram, so how do you like your new truck? anything you would change?

As a kid I never liked Fords, only GM cars.

That being said I only buy Fords now, the reason, this tiny little dealership Freeman Ford

The Freemans go way back with us, I was in college with David when his father unfortunately passed away from cancer, he left school to run the dealership with his mother. I was once service manager there and I met my wife there as she was the office manager. David and his sister run it now, everyone there knows us, the service manager fears me :) just the way I like it. The parts manager orders what I want, no prepayment.
When we go to buy there is no dickering on prices, or games, the truck was $500 over invoice and we looked at the invoice.

Any dislikes on the truck? I need to get use to DEF and regens, seems like one every 500 miles normal driving. There is a lot of tech, most can be disabled to be normal but you have to navigate a screen to do it. It is bigger than the Excursion, not as tight a turning radius and has a smaller fuel tank, that can be corrected later with a 60 gallon aftermarket tank.

I have installed a small bed corner tool box and have ordered fender liners. I plan on a tonneau cover, air tank with compressor, air horn, mud flaps and eventually some engine stuff but not until it is out of warranty.

It has the 5th wheel prep and increased cargo capacity making it equal to an F350, it can tow up to 22K pounds, hitch capacity is Class V with 2200 tongue weight capability. The thing also has 360 cameras, towing specific dash when in tow haul mode etc. Also has an exhaust brake for going down mountains. It was made to tow and believe me, it will, retirement is in sight, just don't know when yet.

Get the Edge or Banks monitor so you can keep track of all the stupid stuff these new diesels do.

It amazes me how many gauges are stock in this thing, There is a diesel monitoring panel, then an engine monitoring and configurable up front gauges,

Oh, one dislike, the fuel gauge is to small but my eyesight is not the best for up close reading.
