I still get commercial account prices even though I retired, nice to know all the guys at the different parts houses.

I just cancelled my prime with 25 days left. I seem to use Walmart more & I can get 1-3 days delivery. Usually 1.

Another supply house that's no longer in St Pete but the Clearwater branch isn't too far away, Johnstone supply, I was friends with the franchise owners SIL and rode motorcycles together some weekends, before I had my ac license I needed to buy an ac system and I was trying to help a good friend out that was tight on $ so I really didn't want to ask my boss because there wasn't any $ in it for him and didn't want to ask for a favor for this job thinking I might need to ask a favor for our own house problem, my friend Dusty said you still have your own acct here but it hasn't been used since 1985, Hunter appliance, we can sell you ac systems under that acct., Bingo
, I think the only time I ever got pissed off and loud with any counter person was when I was ordering a new 5 ton rooftop unit for a vet I know that owns Live Oak animal hosp, it was on a Thurs, guy said we dont have one here but I can get it here tomorrow, I said Well I'm not doing the job till next Wed so No hurry as long as its here Wed morning so I can go install it, I go in the following Mon and they had Raised prices that morning so now my 5 ton unit was $250-$300 more (3-4 yrs ago I forgot exact amount) and they new there was going to be an increase but didn't say anything to us dealers, I was and still am one of there dealers, I went off on the guy Very loudly for not telling me because I would've picked it up Friday and stored it in my storage place, manager heard me yelling and came down to the other end of the counter and said Rick I'll do what I can to get the price down, that calmed me down but he only brought it down $100 IIRC, I told the dumbass behind the counter "You just took $XXX right out of my pocket!!" among a bunch of other words, now if Im not picking up right away I get email quotes so I can make them stick to the price within a reasonable time

Been looking at that too.... We get stuff usually the same day, but for other stuff it might not come that quick.

And I'm one of their dealer companies not just another ac company like a Trane etc dealer

The wire grommet for my cowl hood was supposed to be here last week. For some reason it sat at the Hunker, Pa post office from last Wednesday to today (Wednesday) and only after I inquired did I get a message from USPS that it was in transit. 7 days collecting dust, the 2nd to last piece till my hood can be mounted and car can be test driven after 5 years. Guess I shouldn’t be in a hurry.

When I buy from Amazon I save up enough items until I get free shipping. I’m not going to pay more for the same item. I’ll go elsewhere just based on principle.
I don’t have Amazon Prime. My uses the Walmart service which is better for groceries and run of the mill items. Fast reliable delivery. But they don’t have the immense amount of stuff that Amazon has.

I haven’t tried Walmart yet, hate going there. Not sure if they’ll deliver this far out. Need to find out, we have prime but everything takes 6-7 days to get here now. Gone is 2 day shipping. Haven’t seen an Amazon truck in at least 5 weeks. All usps
I think 5-7 days is about what I wait for non Prime Amazon shipping. Seems like you are getting ripped off.
My wife has the lower tier Walmart service. You get stuff like soda, shampoo, dry spaghetti, rubbing alcohol, etc delivered. I think mainly what you don’t get is fresh meat, produce etc. You get a subscription to Peacock or Paramount plus. She lives near a store so if they have it in stock, she gets stuff quickly, often same day.

I haven’t bought meat from a store in years, I go to a fresh butcher with local beef, chicken and pork. We grow most of our produce and the grocery store provides milk, cheese and that type of stuff wife has amazon prime and a lot of our dry goods come from there. She gets some tv/movie stuff but we don’t own a tv. I had never heard of Amazon before I met her 7 1/2 years ago.

That’s how I felt after 10 years of DirectV, got mad at them, ripped the box out and threw the TVs out the next day. That was almost 10 years ago. I had them on direct draft and didn’t pay attention, went from $60 a month to $200 and I went nuts when I finally paid attention.
I ordered a couple things from Walmart took 6 days. One came USPS the other FedEx.

I order from WalMart and usually pick it up. I buy my oil and other fluids there.
Funny thing is you can order from Amazon and not be a Prime member and still get free shipping, just may take a day longer.

I'd have to drive 100 miles to pick it up. Only Walmart close is across the river & I don't go there. Only used to go there when the drinking age was 18 & still 21 here.

I was drinking legally at 17, only on base until my 18th, then they changed it to 19 and then 21. Thankfully I was grandfathered in each time. Don’t drink much anymore, a beer once every few months.
