Running a Little Rough

.....with $15 to $20 for shipping, which is why I don't buy from crock auto.......

Shipping is pretty reasonable with them these days. I do believe that they listened to everyone complaining and changed things. I would order from them if my state wasn't going after them for alleged taxes owed (Rockauto does NOT have a presence in Arizona, so they do NOT owe Arizona ANYTHING).

Nope.... proof below. Like waiting 7 days for $8.99 from USPS which will likely be lost or delayed? And the next using UPS for $13.99 and taking 6 days for 78% of the part cost? Nope, nothing has changed.

Parts on order from OReillys, will pick up tomorrow, had a $10 discount code to use.

Vacuum advance is for a 1112005 distributer, 2BBL car. From the looks of it it may have been replaced once before, did not have a GM part number on it. I did not do it so my guess is it was done in the late 1970's. I know everything that was done to that car from about 1980 on, prior to that it was a daily driver and worked on primarily at a Chevy Dealer in Middletown, MD.

I just sent 2 v-171 vacuum cans back to summit today, same as the b-22.
I tested them, started moving at 10" and quit at 16. Probably close to what you want.

Wise man. If I ever travel with a msd or pertronix....have both........I carry a loaded points distributor and a ballast resistor for roadside corrections. Pertronix, at least the first version, is garbage. I think they've gotten better. The new msd stuff is garbage I hear and WAY overpriced.
I have at least 3 of those in use also.....the old stuff. In the vette, I replaced the old red 6a box with the first series blue module, pic below, it's the size of a rotor and fits real nicely under the vette console. Found this little beauty at a swap for $10 and it works fantastically!!
If I had to use something like that I'd go for a Unilite.

You won't really find shipping any lower than the $8.99 price. I ship things literally Monday through Friday. Shipping costs are through the roof right now, and they will not come back down (they never lower them). Good on the companies that can afford to eat shipping to their customers - most business can not do that.

Just an fyi,..... I used pirate ship on a set of headers shipped coast to coast, cost was $58 by my measurements and 34 lbs on my scale. They're a broker and I picked UPS. After it arrived, they tacked on $11. Pretty cheap imo even with the bogus added cost.

It's not just the shipping cost.... 7 days to get part? The fastest being $33.99 for next day service which is really 2 days? I understand prices have increased, but I've never found crock auto to do anything on time or the prices to be reasonable. I've even had to argue with them when the shipped the wrong part and it's not even close.... If I'm going to pay extra, I want it top quality, and I want it now.

Haven't used a unilite since my ford 289 days......45 years ago. Don't hear much about them anymore. Will look into it.
They are kinda spendy now. But I never had any problems with the one I had, suppose I could sell it.

I really don't need it, but I'm curious. Of course if you're in need of anything for a trade or selling cheap.......I'm listening. The one I had never had a vacuum advance, and I thought that's the only way they came.........until I just looked.

I'll dig it out sometime, gonna be a couple of weeks.
