Suspension Upgrades

My projects are piling up. I have wet bolts for a suspension upgrade to the camper and have ordered a CREE3000 equalizer, and I will order suspension reinforcement bars. 5 years old and a lot of miles on the camper, this upgrade has been on the back burner but it is time.

If I did discs I would upgrade my axles to 5K from 3500.
I did the upgrade today, man am I beat. I had the camper on jack stands most of the day.

I started to take pics but the job was more than I expected. I ended up taking springs completely loose, things to lining up properly unless you did it just right.

I put plywood on my gravel and crawled under the camper on it, I can't tell you how many times I got down and up.

One pleasant surprise, the axles are marked 4400lbs! So 8800 in the axles, 1300 tongue weight 10100 lbs.

Wheels are back on, I have a few things to do on it tomorrow.

Of course after you get done with something there are things I should have done but it will be OK!

I will retorque some bolts now that is on the ground, put a gas line bracket back on, torque the lug nuts, and check to make sure the wet bolts are completely lubed and then take her for a pull.

I'm a cheap tent kind a guy lol, what are WET bolts?, I did convert my work van for sleeping for a few Daytona Bike Weeks though :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Greasable spring shackle bolts. A lot of trailers don't have a grease fitting so the bushings & pins are wore out after about a year.

I finished everything this morning and took her on a test pull. She seems to have more jounce control now.

Next big project, a new turbo for the Excursion.

Wicked Wheel will give you a bit more power.... when my 6.0 was rebuilt, I had the option and it's definitely better.

My son has the truck now (he parked it a year ago so he could start fixing it up after he was very hard on it) and went out to where it's parked on my brother's farm, 2 cranks and she was running.

I am thinking a Garret Turbo with a Wicked Wheel, Thoroughbred Diesel sells a unit and the wheel does not void the warranty. I have to keep it close to stock, I have head bolts and do not want to do anything to stretch them. I have made it 183,000 and the engine is still sound.
