69 Malibu Pro Touring build

It was brown, a little bit darker than the Rockford car. Formula had the spoiler and hood scoops.
I painted it orange for him about 18 years ago... we did the whole paint job, including all prep work, on a 3 day holiday weekend. It was a quick job that was supposed to be temporary, but it's been holding up pretty well and still looks good from 50'.

The next step for adding more power to the Chevelle is swapping in this T56 "Magnum F" from Silver Sport Transmissions that was delivered today... I am not sure how soon I will install it, but it'll be ready for me when I get the 416 built.
Ooooo, a 416 stroker ? I've been wanting to pull my LQ4, bore it to the max and stroke it.
Run 11-1 pistons with my small "hot cam."
I figure it would make 525 hp and have a good idle with ac.
Got any solar powered heating in that garage ? :)

Yeah, LS3 block with 4" stroke. I have the block, and a pair of AFR heads for it already, just haven't pulled the trigger to have it built yet.
It should be somewhere in the 675hp range.

Chevelle upgrades are starting a bit late this year, but the way the weather has been, I haven't missed anything... 🙄

The big upgrade is changing to these Viking Performance, Inc. Crusader triple-adjustable coilovers in the rear, giving me more options for spring rate, more adjustability in damping, and the ability to dial in the stance exactly where I want it.

I built my own lower mounts, as nobody offers a bolt-in or pre-fabricated mount for the Moser housing, and painted it all light silver to make it easy to spot cracks during race prep and inspections.

I really like the look of the mounts ! About 4 yrs ago I put double adjustable Viking coilovers around the 70. The change in ride was thousands of times better.

your car has always been one of my favorites.

The triple-adjustables have separate high-speed and low-speed compression adjustments, so you can set the high speed soft for smooth ride quality, and low speed firmer for handling transitions to kind of get the best of both worlds.

At Goodguys Des Moines, about a month ago I broke a spindle and jammed the driver's side wheel into the fender.

The manufacturer sent me a new spindle of a revised design, and the suspension was fixed pretty easily a few weeks ago, but the fender was pushed into the door, making it unable to open and close. Last night, I finally got around to fixing that problem by making a hook that i could use to pull the fender out.

All the damage is down low, so I'll probably just touch up the paint chips, and leave it dented.

Tonight, I'll replace the bent tie-rod, and align it, then it'll be ready for the Engelhart Performance car show Saturday!
