For Immediate Release:

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls. We have some very exciting news to share with all.

You are likely here because you are a motorhead and value unabridged speech. Most of us have spent a number of years as members of various websites and public forums through the years. What started out as a novel experience, the shared experiences of hobbyist have become big business. As time has gone by more and more of the forums that we have enjoyed have become highly commercialized because of the access to a captive market of active subscribers. That led them to become increasingly sensitive to the people who pay the bills and restrictive to the actual users. In this time of ‘wokeness’ ‘equity and inclusion’ and ‘diversity’, it has increasingly led to censorship of free speech. Given these times, we felt it was time for a change.

This website was started with one goal in mind: to place a priority on the members by forgoing commercialization, emphasizing the hobbyist, and placing a premium on camaraderie while giving everyone a voice to relay their opinions, ideas, and concerns.

On February 19, 2022, Old Chevelles was given a life of its own. It is now incorporated as a nonprofit organization. That means the company and site are not owned by any individual. This site and domain are owned and controlled by YOU, a member of the community.

We are very pleased to announce Old Chevelles Inc. has a Board of Directors that will act as a governing body to maintain the site and company. The board is comprised of these Directors:

Jonathan Hart - (Chevelle_Nut) Shop Foreman

Michael Rushing - (cage2592) Administrator

Ronald Visant - (bikeron) Moderator

Alan Finley - (Alan F) Moderator

Kevin Makar - (kmakar) Janitor

Please make yourself at home and get to know each of the Directors as they are everyday contributors.

Thank you. We look forward to knowing everyone.

I would like to take a moment to echo the announcement and open myself up to any members who need counsel. When I first joined another classic car forum, I had just embarked upon a restoration of a car that I needed help with. I joined the national club, an email list and forum, which was relatively new. This was in the days when the forum owner participated in the discussions and everyone understood that there was a particular reverence for the owner’s preferences. There was an individual that I found to be a natural leader who would do his dead level best to lead from the front to ensure that everyone had an enjoyable experience. I want to be such an ambassador.

I’m at a different place in my life where I have a lot to share technically. But I want to foster the interpersonal side of this forum. My prayer is that I will never be overbearing nor ambiguous. I only want to work for the benefit of the site taken as a whole. Please help me make this is a great site for everyone.

Hey all, I found out about this place from LeadHead (thank you LeadHead!)
Very happy to be here, I was somewhat of a noob at the old place but wow, good riddance, what a joke that place was, thank you for the invite!
Looking forward to some good FREE time here :)
Hopefully you do not mind a guy with a 66 el camino and a fox body mustang, don't worry once chevelles become affordable again (if ever) I will get one!

Welcome! Everyone is welcome here and it doesn't matter if you like and have other cars as well, we are all car guys with other interests and this site is a reflection of that.

You are free to talk about anything you like, just abide by the rules of no threatening, and no pornography (girls in skimpy bikini's are just fine).

Take a look around and enjoy, and most of all, enjoy free speech as it was meant to be.
