Taking apart coupler. I needed to use a 7/16 wrench and remove the bolt completely. The way the shaft is the end has a groove for the bolt.

I used a standard (flathead) screwdriver and in the side slot pushed the clip in and up. Did the same to the other slot and pulled out the clip. Side note I should have used needle nose. It would have been easier. Clip is pictured .

With clip removed I was able to slide the coupler up and wiggle off.

You should create some media albums and label them, that are open to all under your name. You've got some great quality and flow to process. Plus you do outstanding work.

When I finish this I will try. I do everything on my phone. It’s difficult to figure stuff out. Not a high tech guy. Thanks for following and the kind words.
 
Time to wipe down and inspect. Start prepping for the blasting.

Finish. In the first picture the rod is out of first blast before the wire wheel and sanding plus two more of that. Coupler and clamp are finished.

After about two days and several hours time to reassembly. I waited to seal rod until after I installed coupler. Wrapped with paper towel and tin foil it’s time to add grease. I decided not to change the boot because I did not won’t to pull the pin out or try to slide a new boot over. After inspection there are no rips or holes so I will just leave and seal. I got some high temp grease thanks to some advice here and started with grease in coupler. Next greased the rod end and two side pieces. Slide them on and greased spring and installed.

Next I giggled and slide the coupler on. Placing the coupler on the table and pushing down I installed the cli. Using needle nose this time made the job much easier. Making sure the clip was installed correctly seating on the boot . The coupler slid up and down freely holding boot in place.

Next I installed the lower coupler. Notice the grooves and the groove for the bolt. It only fits when the bolt hoe lines up.
