Essential shop supplies

Probably not everyone's idea of essential shop supplies, but I have a rubbermaid bucket and mop setup.

I like the floor clean so oil and grease aren't tracked everywhere.
Oil and grease is not my problem, dang dirt and pollen blowing in is. We use our garage like a front door and the dorr is up for a good part of the day.

I never spray brake cleaner inside (fumes and gases), never near an open flame, and always wear glasses, so I'm not overly worried, but not arrogant either.
We have an un-vented gas log fireplace. Whenever cleaners or paints are used we can smell the fumes being burned.

I know but, the thing is, the guy didn't know the weld would do that. Now, he does.
When ever I see anything about brake clean, I`m reminded of that article.

Not good.
Yeah, the logs are turned off when that happens and until the smell clears...

Did I tell you my daughter steals my brake cleaner? Yeah, well she has found it good for cleaning art projects and when she sprays it in the basement we smell it.

Yep, you did, but she should be spraying that stuff outside......

Teenagers are smarter than us old farts. I have old her that many times.

She watches car shows with me. I reminded her what some people use to get old engines going, brake cleaner, it will go BOOM very easily. I told her it can be used in the garage with the door open and side door propped open for ventilation.

Use non-chlorinated brake clean when there's a chance you'll be welding on or near it. It's not as potent, but safe, or so I've read.
