Anyone here actually Like Q-Jets? Have 4 to sell.

Trying to clean out my storage of stuff I will never use.
Four Q-Jet carbs sitting on a shelf along with the rebuild-tuning book.
No idea what is fair for them now but I paid over $300 each for two of them.
Make a fair offer or tell me what to ask.

I own 3 edelbrock qjets; one is the 850 cfm model 1910.
Are any of yours the 1976-1979 new design with APT ? If so they should be worth a little more.

Later ones had a plug you could remove & you can raise or lower the primary metering rods, without taking the top of the carb off.

Love Q-Jets, but broke as joke. I'm rebuilding a Holley 800 spread bore double pumper, and have 1 Q-Jet.

I like Q'jets too. I'd rather have the drivability of a Q'jet than a Holley.

Anyone wanna help me fix me one up for a Corvair? I have a 4 bbl intake for one. I think the small primaries would work well for it and can really tune the secondaries down.

I would recommend buying one from smicarburetor.com
Used carbs are a nightmare IMHO

Agreed. when I buy one, it will be from a good reman business. Probably buy on this year but I want to try a custom 800cfm.

After your post and sincerely considering one for use on a Corvair project, I was looking at the offerings on EBay. You can hardly get anything below $50 and some are several hundred dollars. My assessment is that there are three influencers to price, in this order.
1. Numbers. If it fit anything high performance it’s expensive. Smog era carbs, not so much.
2. Condition. Everything from sludged up takeoffs to clean original, perhaps rebuilt and used.
3. Completeness. Saw quite a few missing choke pieces or other appurtenances like the inlet filter fitting which always scare me if it’s out.

My opinion is you can increase your potential for sale with a little more information and pictures.

As a unknown grab bag, I’d guess about $50 each. If you have a 7029204 in mint condition, as just one example, maybe $1,000.

If you want to give it a shot, maybe contact Cliff Ruggles or the Vintage muscle car guy. I know of another too but I haven't been able to get in touch with him anymore. Username is Tuner.

Brings back memories. Back in the mid 60’s when a teenager I bought a new 327 crate engine for my ‘55 Chevy to replace the 6-cylinder engine.

The 327 came with an intake manifold for a Quadrajet carb, so I bought a Q-jet Carb for the engine. I was young and inexperienced and I tried to make it run but had a terrible time setting it up.

So, I finally said screw it!....and I bought a 4-bbl AFB Carter Carb....soooo much easier to set up. I had to buy a transition fitting to transition the intake openings from the Q-jet hole pattern to the openings for the Carter, and I had my new engine running in an afternoon no problems.

There you have it.....I always thought the Q-jet design was very cool but my experience with them wasn’t so good!

I know they are good carbs, but I just had to share. Btw, that 327 was awesome in a ‘55 Chevy!

Do you have one? A carb that is.

The edelbrock quadrajets are the best to use if you can find one. They are all based on the best design (1976-1979). See the attachment below.
They are expensive but sometimes the person selling it doesn't know what he has.
Tom Mobley gave me a model 1904 that he rebuilt for only $200.
I also have a couple of nice model 1910's that were designed to be used on 500+ hp Big Blocks.
I'm running one of these (with a custom Cliff Ruggles rebuild kit) on a 390 hp-427 stock cast iron Corvette quadrajet intake.
Vortecpro has proved that this intake can compete with Edelbrock's performer rpm. These intakes can be bought for $100.
