Anyone here actually Like Q-Jets? Have 4 to sell.

When I had a Holley on my very hot-rod Corvair it ran great or terrible, depending on the weather/humidity.
When running right it was great, but when running sour I always wanted to change it out for something else.
If doing it over today I would fit an adapter and a pair of Weber IDF's.

What Holley did you have on it? I would think it would be hard to keep the air velocity up with a regular 4150/4160.

I had a friend that ran a 390 CFM Holley on a 2.0 L in a Pinto. He had a header and Racer Brown cam. It was quite peppy.

I was figuring the Corvair would handle a 500-600CFM but I think a spreadbore would allow a bigger carb. It will never pull enough air to open the secondaries all the way.

What engine is this ? The flat 6 standard Corvair ? You have a qjet intake for this ?

It’s a standard Corvair 2.7L H-6 with real duals. I’m going to put a Pertronix in it. Later I may add a bigger cam.
Yes, I have the intake which currently accepts a square bore. I was going to try to use a 390 Holley but became intrigued with using a q’jet. My ultimate goal is to make it fuel injected for max drivability. I’ve been researching putting together a scratch built system.

I like to tinker and this project is intellectually stimulating because I never paid attention to Corvairs before.
