When my sister brought him around one of the first times he walked in my Dad's shop where my Dad, 2 brothers. and I were all working on multiple different project cars... He said something like "Why don't you guys sell all these old cars and buy one nice new one?" ...to which I responded "Why don't you sell your boat and fishing gear, and stock your freezer with fish sticks?"
He didn't see the equivalence.
