Vintage A/C

For a few years now I've been trying to decide between Vintage & Classic Auto Air, I think I'm sold on Vintage because they use Electronic controls instead of cables, I think they both use Sanderson 508 comp. and I stopped by a Vet Dr that I do a/c work for that restores Muscle cars for a hobby shop yesterday to check out the 65 Impala SS he's restoring for his brother and is also installing Vintage Air in the Non a/c Impala and seems like a much nicer duct set up than what they offer for Chevelles that didn't have factory a/c so does anyone know of another company that offers similar under dash duct like this Impala has? I'm pretty sure Classic is the same as Vintage but I did read over on the "Other" place someone had a hell of a time making a duct for their Classic system

Thank you, page 14 is what I was wondering about and IMO would look better 1 piece along the bottom of the dash like the 65 Impala has but if that's it well that's it

Well Im ready to pull the trigger on the VA system, where's the best place to buy it from? I like buying from Summit as they have very good tech support and return policy and price is pretty much the same as anywhere else that I can see $1,825.00, anyone have a better place to buy it from? TIA oh and I bought a center vent louver that's not repo by anyone this was made on a 3D printer, Oh but Summit is backed to Sept :(

I bought mine from Summit (y)

I'm happy with my Vintage Air kit. The only problem is the solenoid valve on the heater hose quit working so I haven't had working heat for a couple years... haven't felt like dropping the inner fender to access it.

I'd like to order it from Summit but don't want to wait till Sept, I'm going to call them today and see what's up

It's available on ebay from Comp Cams but they only have one in stock ! And it's a little cheaper than Summit

Does your car have astro-vents ? The round vents in the dash on each side ?
No Astro vents, I just bought that same looking center vent for my 68 Chevelle that I couldnt find repopped for $250 lol, the box part was made on a 3D printer the louver is an orig part, I also have the alt on Pass side insead of drv side like 69 originally came

Well now Im thinking about drilling the holes in the dash for the Asro ball vents, much cleaner look and I was shown Dr Steves 72 truck that he did the same and really looks like the best way 🙂 going to call VA Mon, Summit said call back Mod but look to 8+ weeks out 😐

Yes, I like the look of the astro-vents better. My 67 doesn't have them but it's just a hole-saw away :

A few things to note, before the dash went out for refinishing, I cut in the holes for Astro-vent A/C ports and I located and drilled knee-knocker tach mounts.

It wasn't my dash. They did come on ac equipped cars so it's easy to add them.
I think there are instructions about how and where to drill your dash in the VA manual

I'm hoping the VA inst. show where to cut the hole for the center vent, I looked inside the hole for the ON/OFF and seen the raised areas for screws so guess I'll need to break out the Dremel20220524_112247.jpg

Let me know if I can help. It’s not a 68 but I have three 69 bezels I can measure for you if you want.
