Chevelle project update

What’s the plan with the seats? I’m highly doubtful they will “settle in”

Im just going to wait and see what happens. It’s not undrivable,I’ll just have to adjust my driving position a little. I usually sit pretty upright.

I'm trying to find an interior guy right now. I have a Legenday parchment/pearl interior that needs to be assembled.
Andy's looks awesome !

I did mine myself. It took a while and my hands hurt like a MF, but it came out nice I think. But I hope to never see another hog ring as long as I live 😅

Judging by my inability to find someone to do something as run of the mill as a windshield installation, I’ll probably be installing g the top myself too.

Holes in the door for the arm rest screws don’t line up. Arg. Plus I put the window cranks back on and the first one I tried stripped out. ARG. And the right rear door panel is binding on the to and keeping it from working properly. AAARGH.

Take a breath, walk away, do something else, then go back. You're on the homestretch and these things are going to happen.

Some 10" long self-drillers will solve that arm rest problem. ;)

Wow, these repops sure do fit great.

Oh oops, I meant to say they fit like shit.

About as close as I can get it and still hide that rear hole.

After looking at my repop arm rest pads for years, I finally grabbed a pair of oem black pads and dyed them parchment. The bases have always been oem. I have an extra set of bases here when you're ready.

Thank you for the offer. It’s not the bases that are wrong, I don’t think. I had to wrestle them a little but that first pic it’s mounted in the original holes. I don’t have my originals any more to compare but it looks like the door panel may be completely wrong.

I can move the arm rest forward a little but I still can’t get it in the right place without exposing that rear hole in the door panel. I think I can maybe get a pair of the Buick backing plates, those should stick out far enough

Repop parts!

Ok, I moved it forward so it’s in the correct location. I’ve now got the hole sticking out on the back side, but I’m going to order a set of the 68 arm rest bezels. That’s should cover it up. I’d like to figure out what exactly is going on but this is the easy button.

You could unscrew the bottom of the panel and cut off a small piece of vinyl where it's hidden tucked behind the panel and glue over the opening. Just a thought.
