Double hump head

They say stock vortecs are worth 20+ HP over them.

They are worth more than 20hp as I have run the old vs the new Vortec's back to back and the Vortec heads ran 5 tenths and about 4-5mph more than the old stuff did. More like 50hp. Supposedly I have my camel hump heads sole for $400 tonight.

If I built a 350 street engine, I would use the edelbrock 170 E-tec head that's a direct copy of the vortec.
They used that small head on all of their crate engines up to 440 HP. Above that they switched to the 200cc version of the same head.

Sold my 462's for $400 last night, guy could wait to put them on. Maybe I will get a pair of Chinesium heads to port and see what I can do with them. Humm.....

I still have my 462's on my old 406 sitting on a stand. Just needs the cam change and cleaned up as it wiped a lobe. They were milled and hand some work done. For the price that was worked over on these, the guy I got them from could have hat a nice set of ALUM HDs. this was about 12 years ago. Engine ran great.
