Rear main seal over $40.00, really?

I was hoping to order up the rest of the gaskets and seals to assemble my 327 lower end tonight.
Every rear main seal on Summit's site states "Not for racing" even at $40.58.
Most are rubber, a few are silicone, at least one is Viton.
Back in my Corvair days Viton was THE hot ticket to avoid leaks.
Tried looking for a Race rated seal, none came up.

So what is the majority opinion here for rear main seal material and brand?

I have had good luck with the stock 2 piece seal, I think it was rubber.

For the oil pan I have been using the 1 piece gasket, seems to help keep the timing cover and crank area from leaking.

Really do not want ANY leaks on this build.
Went with a $22.00 Viton rear seal.
Kind of expensive but much cheaper than having to change out a cheap one.
Now just hoping the expense is justified.

yeah. Expensive stuff is just that expensive.

My 4.3L boat engine has a rear main seal leak, replaced it once. Not going to mess with it until I am ready to rering it, I have a weak cylinder. Heads were already done.
