Michelin Tires

It's no secret I've been a fan of Michelin tires for a long time. We are headed to NC this weekend for our eldest daughters graduation and her being pinned an RN, so I was going to wait until we had 75k miles on the Michelins on Lisa's Escape, but decided I'd just put new ones on now before the trip.

Couldn't be more pleased to actually get the rated mileage out of a tire and they still rode nice, and the new ones (exact same tire as the originals) ride just as nice. The tires on Lisa's Escape were 80k mile warranty, and here's what they look like with 74k miles on them.

How many 32nds were left?

I've got about 50,000 miles on the set on my Suburban (20s) and they still look new. I've been a Michelin fan since the '70s after blowing out 3 Firestones on a vacation to CA. To me, nothing balances out and rides as nice, especially on a truck.

I let my tire guy talk me into putting firestone's on my truck. What an ass I was.

Lisa has been pushing me to buy Michelin's for the truck, but I have a hard time throwing away good money, but the way the firestone tires ride (like shit), I'm about to pull the trigger and give the firestone tires to someone who wants a tire swing.

That's impressive tire wear.Don't buy the Firestone tires at a Firestone store get the Bridgestone's instead. They put more research into the Bridgestone's than the Firestone's get and the tires quality suffers as the purchasers of their tires do too.
Derek you have a cool tire store.

We put Bridgestone Ecopia on my youngest daughter's 2016 Mazda CX5, and she's got almost 60k miles on them (time for new tires, but she's old enough now to do it on her own).

The Bridgestone tires were less expensive than the Michelin's, but the ride quality of the Michelin's is definitely better.

The only Michelins that let me down were the last set on my Red Fusion, only got 25,000 miles out of them. When I went to get new tires only brand available was Yokohamas. Discount Tire knocked $400 off of the tires because of the tread wear on the Michelins and so far they ride nicely and handle well in the rain.

I had some Yokohamas on a 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan about 15 years ago. Nice tire and was quiet and handled the high speeds well (excess of 110mph).

Got a love/hate thing going on with Yokohama... they're currently the best autocross tire available, but my size is $449/ea and they last half a season. :(

Ouch. The Michelins were $920 for all 4, and installation was $103. No one had them locally, so I ordered them from TireRack.com, and had them delivered to a Firestone place about 10 miles away.

I love Michelins. It's all I will buy now. I don't care what they cost. Firestone/Bridgestone are the absolute worst tires I have ever had. Total crap!
I've had good luck with Goodyear Wranglers, but when they get old, they really get crappy in a hurry.
Had a pair of Generals once that were pretty good, but I was young then and all I could afford.
I'll gladly pay extra money for good stuff. I don't need shitty products in my life.
