Got a so I message from my Insurance carrier today and they suggested I raise the value on my car. So I raised it.. Upped the premium 64 bucks a year but it has a value on it for $58k now. I am confident it will bring more but just in case I need it I'll go with their offer. Hagerty btw.... Good Company.

I have Hagerty as well. I think I'm at $80K now with an agreed upon value. I had to get a private appraiser to do a write-up, send photos and and receipts.

I can't see $80 in mine but not too far away from there based on this market. I rarely drive my car anymore but it is in fact a very nice car. It's not a cross country type car though.
It is fairly quick though. :)

I'm with you that in this market, I couldn't replace mine right now for the $50K I think its worth. Though what was a $50K car a few years ago, no telling where it will end. I was more looking that if I had to replace it in this market, what would I 'need' to pay. I felt 80 would give me some room. As I get older, I am moving out of the always buying and adding time and more enjoy the drive time. I wanted enough money to NOT have to start from the ground again.

I also have Hagerty with an agreed value of $35K with Cherished salvage in case it gets totaled I can pull parts, Im thinking in this market I should raise it to $45K? Its a big block Malibu semi SS Faux, Clone, Wannabe 😁

I have hagerty as well and have agreed value on all 3 of my cars, but since all are in different stages and are works in progress, hagerty has been the ones to remind me to raise the value as more gets done on each. Since my Chevelle is still untouched, I have an agreed value of 10k, while the Starfire and the GTO clone restomod have higher values as they are further along and both convertibles.

I've had Hagery since my first Chevelle in 1997, and they are tops in my book. I had a really nice '68 4 door hardtop get totalled in '03, and they paid without a whimper and even let me keep what was left for a very nominal charge. My current '68 Caprice is insured for $25K, and costs $325/yr.

I've had Hagerty and they are fantastic with claims. I did have a bit of a disappointment with their tow policy....they dispatch your local tow, and it's normally the cheapest privateer that is on their list. I've waited over an hour and a half on two seperate occasions. With LaRue, you get to make the call with no restrictions. They are an underwriter of course, and I can't vouch for their claim history, but I've heard great reviews....and they're quite a bit cheaper than Hag.
