How much is too much for correct buckets ?

These buckets look correct for my 67 if they have metal seat backs. These are only 20 miles away from me.

But I've never seen anyone ask $1500 for a set that hasn't been rebuilt. Is $1000 about right ?

I have a decent set for a 68 or 69 (plastic seat backs) that I can sell to offset this. Or can I replace the plastic seat back on the 68 seats with metal ?

Metal backs won't interchange to the '68 and later buckets, or at least without mods. Personally, I will pay up for stuff I need, but $1500 for those is just gouging. Won't be a party to that.
I just sold a single '66 bucket for $200 and a single '67 for the same. Selling chevelle parts that can't be shipped is tiresome, it takes years running an ad to get rid of some items, and when they're overpriced, they'll never sell. It's just about negotiating with a reasonable seller. Add another $1000 to the price of those buckets to fit the degree of quality in your '67, so $1000 would be a fair price imo.

I'll offer him $1000 and see where it goes. This may be Patrick Nichols - a Chevelle collector who lives in Clarksville TN.
