Road Trip to the Rocky Mountains 2022

Nah, I have a high flow EGR cooler and I am not studded. Pure stock. The new stock turbo brought the truck alive. With 7000 miles under its belt in 3 weeks, I am leaving her alone. She is allowed to have an occasional hiccup.

Went to the American Pickers store in Nashville, not much of an antiques store but rather a merch store. It was free, parked on the street. Been there done that.

Also went to the Country Music Hall of Fame museum, my wife and daughter loved it! It was worth the cost seeing the looks on their faces.

The Bandit from Smokey and the Bandit II is in there.

Back in NC. Just a long Interstate 40 run today. I am guessing it was a 7000 mile trip, the Excursion is 500 from an oil change and I did the last one in Eastern Montana, I do it every 5000 miles.

I am going to add up my total diesel cost, it won't be pretty. The trip meter says we averaged 11.2 mpg the whole way.

That's a good road trip, I think the longest we've done is around 6000 & about 2 1/2 weeks.
I don't get how some can live fulltime in these.

We Spent $3779.47 in fuel.

I think 3 weeks is my wife's limit, if we were doing a West coast trip I would say a minimum of 6 weeks. The 8-10 hr back to back days wear you out. Hard to believe we were in Colorado a week ago.

We did see very very rural areas of the country, the most desolate was Western Kansas and the pan handle of Oklahoma and Western Wyoming. We were in many places with no people and the only car on the road. That was enjoyable.

A couple of 2 week trips a few years ago 3500 or so was all we spent on the whole trip. We still have a lot of stuff to see.

Jon, you may have experienced one of the last of the great adventures ever to take a large SUV across the country with a travel trailer. At this pace, no-one that would want to do it, could do it. Good thing you got it in and enjoyed it. I enjoyed reading your updates. Thank you.

I hope it is not the last time, we want to start planning our next trip. We still came out for about the same cost a week of Disney World would be and we took 3 weeks. Next trip we need to slow down a bit and relax.

My daughter's family wants to go to Disney Land and wanted the wife and I to go with them. I just cannot and will not endorse Disney anything anymore. They, like State Farm, violated MY trust.

I think they fired that CEO. It's tough to boycott any company because they are ALL run by similar thinking people. I would just play along and enjoy the vacation.

Normally I'm the moderate guy on the political spectrum and you're the "off with their head" person. Have you gone soft or me hard? :D

As much as it distresses me to say, I don't think this progressive woke gender crap is going away. We're under assault by a fringe element of society that would not have been acknowledged in polite company 12 years ago. Bill Clinton was the first government official to acknowledge gays and it's been one hit after another ever since.

It distresses us all to see what's happening and that's why we are all becoming quite vocal about it. Once gays were acknowledged it opened the door to a rash of everything else because no one wanted to speak up about the perversion, and I like most figured, hey, what you do behind closed doors is up to you as long as it doesn't affect me, but they took it as well, I'm gay, I'm here to stay, and now you'll cater to my wants like you should because I deserve it and I'm going to flaunt it.

That's where the mistake was made, and now most conservatives are getting really pissed at seeing the perversion and how it's being propagated in public and to the kids. That's where I draw the line. You want to be gay? Fine. Keep it behind closed doors and I don't want to hear or know about it. To me honestly, first and foremost, this filth is against God's law, against all natural laws, and frankly just some sick shit.

I know I'm hard line and I don't hide the fact that I'm not as accepting, but I believe in God The Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, which makes the Holy Trinity, and this is a major sin against God.

Plus, it cost way to much money to go there. Overpriced & Over rated. At least the high price keeps the riff raff out of there.

I've always been perverse, but just with women...
Disney, I would not go if THEY paid ME. Its the worlds largest sucker trap.
