That is why I have not been on here lately

1/2 Block away they had Power
Across the Street had Power

I hate this Brown Out Shit

Well maybe as the guy down at the End of the Street said when the Hydro Truck went into the Power Line field we had Power a 1/2 Hour later
Why would it take 8 + Days to find out where the Problem was for our Area
I guess they were to busy fixing the Big Problem 15 Miles away on the other side of our City that had nothing to do with our Area
!@#$%^&*

And to piss me off even more there was good weather but could not get into the Garage where the 67 was as it is a Powered Door
to take her out for a ride

AWW Hell thats just F'ing wrong.I hope you at least had a generator to keep the important things up and running ? but from your post above it looks like you didn't. IDK if I could have put up with that for 8 days.

Don't worry guys they're building Solar Panel and Windmill plants to save the country as we speak. I just hope they're building enough of the stuff so you won't have to charge your new EV at certain hrs. of the day.

Lost 2 Fridges and one Freezer Chest of Food
good thing was the Wife had seen a Sale on Candles after Xmas and bought a Box full (12)
we sat in the Living Room and watched the Big 70" Black TV Screen until we feel asleep

You know you must be Poor when you have to eat Cold Steak & Bagels for Supper under CandleLight
I guess I should have paid the Hydro Bill instead of putting Gas in the Chevelle when the Price went down to $ 6.91 a Gal

I'm not the smartest at being prepared but I try to keep an extra propane bottle for the outdoor grill and some rechargeable flashlights around the house.Maybe a post like yours will give people like me a heads up to be ready for the unexpected to happen probably more sooner than later.

I have a 5500 portable gen that kept our house ok WO ac though when hurricane Irma hit, gas was a bitch to find though and I have Natural gas Duh! but the gen I bought was new off the back of a truck so to speak for .50 on the dollar ( gift cards) and full warranty on gen But I need to get a Nat gas Gen since hurricanes never effect our gas service, Id hate thinking of losing all my fridge stuff since prices of everything are crazy now

Look for a conversion kit.... they sell them for gasoline engines. LPG or Natural Gas kits are available for just about any engine.

I didn't know that :) I'll I put a back up Mini Split A/C and we'll be good next time around, I do my sales reps families ac jobs and his father (a pastor that has all family get togethers at his home) connected to my electrician friends installed auto switch for Gen power and he uses it for family get togethers when there's a lot of people there to help cool the home, I installed a new ac system in his home too but you can't oversize systems legally, the mini split class instructors always say to use a Clean Energy Gen/Invertor Tech Gen but I know they do work on regular Gens, Edit they also work great as a back up when the central ac goes down, Another Edit I was told by my old employer master mechanical HVAC owner of Accurate AC & MECHANICAL inc. that a grown person puts off 200 BTU of heat at moderate movement

In the 23 years I've had my generator I've only used it for the house 2 times. But when I bought it we were on the longest outage we ever had 10 hours -30 out.

We have a BBQ that uses Coals/Brickets etc.
so first day used it to cook up some of the Steak and of chose the next day it was cold Steak and Salad with the cold Bagels

We have Nature Gas Furnace and Fireplace Stove so when we were out Epower in 1998 during a Ice Storm in February for 3 Days
it kept the House & Water Pipes and us from Freezing
we are a Mile from the Substation in our Area but it took them over 8 days to get to our Area / as other Areas inour city were hit worse
then only a 1/2 Hour to fix the problem and we had Epower Back

There were 300 Hydro Poles and thousand of Trees that took out Power Lines
Cars in Streets of 2 Lanes each way had Power Lines come down on them
2 People were killed for not knowing NOT to get out of their cars before the Hydro Crews cut the Power off to those Lines

A lot of the Big Trees were Healthy but some were Rotten inside and 99% of them were owned by the City

Too bad people aren't smart enough to understand electricity kills.

So any of the damage that the city owns they are responsible for damage to private property?
