70 Chevelle Exhaust

So Kevin made a visit recently and while showing him around, we started the 70 to hear it idle and checked out the cooling. He was kind enough to share the clip and I wanted to put it up incase someone wanted to hear the sound.

This is as Mark Jones VORTECPRO 406 mentioned in my engine build post.
1. Hedman Headers 1-3/4 #65101
2. 3" Stainless Pipe. Bent up by me and a local custom exhaust shop.
3. True duals (no X or H)
4. DYNOMAX ULTRAFLOWs #17221
5. 6" long Stainless 3" pipe 'Turn downs' before rear axle

Very tastefully done. Sounds just like a 70 should with that deep growl.

That's a nice sounding machine. I'm a fan of no x or h.
I wasn't either until I ran an X pipe 3" setup and 2 slowmasters on my race car last year and was very impressed with my X pipe. With the SBC that's in it right now the car will run 11.30 closed and 11.33 same MPH open through the electric cutouts. Last year when I also ran my higher powered 406 I took the X system off and put my 2 shorty Walker Bullets I have always run on the car in the past, the 2nd testing day with the Bullets car felt slower with them over the X pipe setup.

Those numbers support what I've learned also. I'm speaking for my street cars, and am willing to give up a few horses for the old school sound.
