My best friend of 41 years died yesterday. We had a bond from the first time we met. We both had a twisted sense of humor, so our comedic exchanges were epic. We could crack each other up with a single sentence.
I am really going to miss him. He is on the right in the picture below (the guy in the middle is actor Cliff Emmich).

I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm sure he's looking down from heaven and smiling at his best friend. I pray that the Lord comforts you during this hard time.

As I read this, I have two friends that I feel the same way about. One is a mainstay on this site, and the other is my friend Gary. My wife summed him up best with the statement "Gary is 80, looks 50 and acts 15!" His dear late wife wholly agreed with this!
I dread the day that something happens to one of us...

I'm Sorry to hear about your friends passing, it's rough when you've had a great friend 40+ yrs and lose them

Long time to know someone and then when they are laid to rest it's often a tough few months thereafter. Upside is that you've built untold stories as friends which will remain for the rest of your days. Take care of yourself and thrive. God Speed to your friend.

So sorry for the loss of your friend! I have a good buddy of 50+ years who lives afar but we stay in touch and we've been talking often as he's going through a tough time right now! I am appreciating him now more than ever, as we are both getting older. You can't say enough about a great friend who you "click with". He will be missed I'm sure. Hang in there!

A good friend is even better than some of your relatives.
You choose your friends as you go through life, they aren't assigned to you at birth just by being part of your family. That in itself makes them even better than some of your family. Feel better in the fact that he's in a better place now and happy that you're thinking of him today.

He obviously had a great sense of humor. And was an animal lover (y)
You can still buy that book !

This is hilarious

The cats of America are under siege!

Long gone are the good old days when a cat’s biggest worries were mean dogs or a bath. Modern cats must confront satanists, online predators, the possibility of needing to survive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and countless other threats to their nine lives.

For over four decades, the American Association of Patriots have stood at the vanguard of our country's defense by helping to prepare our nation's cat owners for the difficult conversations they dread having with their pets. Written in a simple Q&A format, How to Talk to Your Cat About Gun Safety answers crucial questions such as, “What is the right age to talk to my cat about the proper use of firearms?” and “What are the benefits of my cat living a lifestyle of abstinence?” and especially “Why does my cat need to use the internet? Can’t he just play with yarn like cats used to do?”

Our country—and our cats—stand at a precipice. It will take courage, and it will take hard work, but armed with the knowledge within these pages, we can make our cats—and America—great again!
