Flat plane and cross plane crankshafts...

I remember in the late 80's when Warren Johnson tried to run a flat plane crank in his 500 in. engine. He said it made so much torque that he had a tough time hooking the car up. The biggest problem was the balancing of his engine at the time, as I am sure no one used counter balancers back then for that problem in V8 engine with flat lane cranks. Those 1st started to show up on factory V6 cars in the 80's on the Buick V6's as before in 85 those engines shook like all hell, the 86 and up V6's were a lot smoother.
