My grandson paid cash for a new ordered 2019 Camaro. He didn't want a v8 so he ordered an R/S 3LT model with some sporty appearance extra's.
The car mostly sits as he drives an older Honda to work in the L.A. area.
He keeps the car at my house because I have room and it's kept in a car canopy type enclosure which is fairly weather tight. The car has 1,950 miles on it so it obviously sit's alot. The battery has died three times since he bought the car and the last time it was too dead to open the doors or the trunk. These car's have a key inside the key fob which you can stick in a hole under the door handle and mess with a mickey mouse designed door handle to remove the cover they put on to hide the door key hole. It's a Biden type blunder for sure. Surely designed by one of his brain surgeons.
I was able to get the door open so I could open the hood and put a batterty charger on the two little terminals under the hood and charge the battery again well enough to get some power back in there. Now to the trunk to change the battery...... I've not seen a greater nightmare than what they've done to get the battery in the trunk. Very unimpressed with Chevrolet overall these days. I've heard nothing good about GM as of late given the lack of customer care where several well known issues are concerned. To name one would be the errant shifting 8 speed automatic trans and the severe lifter failures on the 2021 Chevy's with 5.3's.
What triggered me was the cost of a 5 cent plastic push pin that holds on the inner wheel well panel in the trunk of the Camaro. I was at the dealer today, the parts guy was a prick at first AND last impression and that prick charged me $6.75 for a 5 cent part. GM will fail and this is why...
I am a GM retiree and they won't cut any slack at THAT dealership which I'll not give a name but it is in Orange California.
Chevrolet, you can do much better or the word will get out. You are failing with your customers and a serious lack of customer satisfaction.
