What do you use for lube?

For your RV toilet so the valve will hold water. I've used plumbers grease as per RV forums, WD 40 dry lube, & latest I bought some synthetic brake parts grease.
So far the last has worked the best. I was thinking silicone oring lube might be good.

If you put chemicals into the tank and toilet, you may want to look for a viton o-ring as they are not susceptible to breakdown from chemicals.

I think the O ring is OK it just stick on the sliding valve, if I let it snap shut usually it OK. But try to tell her that.
