Are 462 Camel Hump heads worth anything these days?

I got a 383 last week that the short block turned out to be a dude, but on top of the engine was a super nice re-done set of 462 camel hump heads that have screw in studs, guide plates and really nice springs. Might check the springs to see if they are better then the ones on my 062 Vortecs to use. Are these worth any money these days? last set I bought I only paid like $25. LOL and that was in the early 90's. My car ran 12.50's with them but I have no use for them and I don't think it's worth porting them.

Sold them for $400 last week, no questions asked. Guy was super happy to get them. Meanwhile at the Vortec ranch I got some extra jing to get another set ready for another performance project.

I think you did very well. My thought was that they would only be valuable to a purist as for practical use there are far superior products available today.

Thanks. The guy that bought them said they were the nicest ones he had looked at yet. I have too many sets of good heads to keep them so I decided ehh sell'em.

I have a set of similar worked over 462's on the 406 on my engine stand right now. Also milled down as well. That was the engine in the Chevelle that wiped a lobe and resulted in my going with a Mark Jones 406. I got that engine from my best friend with less than a 1000 miles on it. He had about $1500 in them. Then was upset that he could have got a set of AFR or TW heads for that price at that time.

I think you did good to get what you did.
