New ICE vs EV Truck Tow

Starting in Denver to Colorado Springs, one EV truck and One ICE depart to go as far as they can on 1 charge vs 1 tank while each pulling a 6000lb trailer. They will then turn around.

(these are the same guys that tested the RIVIAN with horrible results pulling a 6000lb trailer. I think the RIVIAN did worse in Mileage but they took that through the CO mountains on I-70)

Some video points if you don't watch it.
1. Ev Starts at 282mi with 100% bat pwr. (Ford Lightening advertises 320mi)
2. Once trailer weight is calculated, est. mi. drops to 160mi
3. EV truck goes 86 mi on one charge with 9% remaining (1% battery per mi). May have gone 100mi but there was no charger within that distance. 1/3 the distance of what the Ford Lightening advertises for unloaded distance.
4. ICE truck is a little less than 3/4 a tank at the same time.
5. During the EV recharging, the ICE truck returns to the beginning.
6. EV gets to 75% charge and the ICE truck is already back at the beginning.
7. ICE fills up its tank to $93.89 after the round trip of 155mi and still had an est. of 65mi before empty for a total of 220mi on one tank if needed.
8. EV recharge was $27.00 to 75%. What they don't show is that once returned the EV will have to charge again. If that was the same $27.00, that $54.00 for the round trip and still at 75% charge.
9. A $40.00 difference credit to the EV.

I drove down I-70 not towing, I would not want to go up it towing.

I-15 is a horrible road, traffic and construction, I did not drive it South of Denver but did drive it North to Ft. Collins. It is on the East side of the mountains so minimal hills. An EV truck is completely useless for towing. Just East of I-15 is flat lands farming country, no place to charge.

Give me a diesel ICE any day.
