Defective new and remanufactured parts is nothing new. 25 years ago I had an Olds 98 and I replaced the reman alternator 13 times. Had an 86 Subaru 30 years ago, replaced the carburetor 3 times, defective.

I am dealing with defective master cylinders, all reman on both cars. I am going to pick up another one tomorrow. last chance. If it is bad I am going to buy a new one from Ausleys or Right Stuff.

We are sort of stuck with what we can get supply shortages and all.

I used to go to a Bendix Brake Garage that 3 older guys owned whenever I needed anything brake related in the 70's and 80's. One of the guys told me never buy a remanufactured master cylinder because you never know how many times its been rebuilt.

Have you tried Napa? I bought a New 1968 Vette MC for my Chevelle from the local Napa, IIRC it was even in stock

What about buying new from RockAuto ? If I don't need something immediately, that's where I go.
They've started carrying restoration parts too.

I do not like Rock Auto. Their return policy sucks and they charge too much shipping, especially if things come from different warehouses on the same order.
