Morris Classic Seat Belts

I watched a vid that was posted on the other place and remembered when it happened to me wearing No belts in my cousins 65 Biscayne and loosing teeth in a head on collision so I had been thinking about ordering these 3 point belts for a few yrs and decided to pull the trigger, I really don't think I used belts at all till the 90's lol

A friend had these in a '69 and the were very nice. I'll buy them for my project Elky when the time comes.

I didn't start wearing seat belts until I totaled a brand new Mazda 626 back in '99 on a business trip in Chicago (wasn't my fault).

The air bag pretty much saved me but left burns on my arms, and right after that (and I mean when I got home from the trip) I bought Lisa a new minivan with air bags.

I wear seat belts now always and when I build out the GTO and Chevelle, both are getting 3 point seat belts with aftermarket seats with head restraints.

After I got the car back from the upholstery shop I bought lap belts and put those in, very Dumb on my part and don't know what the hell I was thinking but they're coming out as soon as I get the Morris belts

I have been thinking about replacing my Gold 72's belts, it has a very early passive restraint system and the belts are a pain to use. Thanks for posting this.

They were available in 69 . not sure about 67. Only way I'd do it is mimic the factory or install a rollbar for attach points. You need to think it through as improper attach points can f you up in an accident. I installed low backs in my cj5 but wanted headrests and shoulder belts. Even improper positioning of the headrests can do more harm if they're not right. The nhra rule book has some engineering on the 5 point system.

I'm thinking pull both 2012 Camaro seats out to install the VA air then the belts (y) but it might be winter before I have any free time, worked at the engine builders house yesterday (Sunday) after working on my work van lol

I have a nice rollbar attachment behind the buckets in my 68 Camaro.
But I don't really want to install a bar behind the seats in the 67 Chevelle.
The track near me is an 1/8 mile, so I'm probably fine there.

Maybe 4 point racing harness? Don't they go over the seats and attach to the floor? I've never had any

I have Morris Classic Concepts 3-points in my car. They work great, no complaints... bolted to stock locations in my '69.
I also have a Schroth ASM 4-point in the driver's seat for autocross with the shoulder harnesses attached to the rear seatbelts, which can be easily unclipped for backseat passengers.
I typically wear the 3-point on the street and 4-point on track to keep me from moving around in the seat.

The 3-point is actually safer than the 4-point. as the higher attachment point will not cause spinal compression injuries, your body can move to the side in a rollover so your head isn't the highest thing for the roof to contact, and the risk of submarining under the lap belt is much lower.

Racecar stuff (roll bars and 5-point harnesses) are best used with a helmet and neck restraint... They are actually less safe on the street because risk of head and neck injuries are higher without the helmet and a neck donut.

Got the Drv side in under 1 hr and left the inst. at home lol

Its a 13637 a Malibu that came with a 307 and PG 10 bolt rear with manual 4 wheel drum brakes that I modified the front spindles to use disc brakes, now its power 4 whl D52s but Im going to put either 98-2000 Camaro/Firebird or a 4 whl Wilwood kit so I can put an Ebrake with a pull up handle next to the console...I think? I also found I put the seat belts on the wrong sides lol thats what happens when you forget to bring the inst with you 😂

Fixed them a little while ago 👍🙂
