Amazon driver driving a big Gray van hits our new PARKED RAV4 in front of our house by backing into my yard and does $2,200 in damage, I paid my $500 deductable and been waiting for reimbursement over 6 months and get this letter today

Which policy are you trying to recover under? I don’t know anything about FL insurance requirements but hope fhey have uninsured and underinsured coverage because it doesn’t sound like they’re covering it under the Collision or Comprehensive Insurance policies. You should probably pull out your policy and read it.

It used to be that your insurance would take care of you in the interim. I don’t think the better insurance companies respect Progressive. They see them as a paper tiger.

I'll have to ask Geico if their policy is similar. You have underinsured and non-insured protection, but not the deductable. That isn't right, you should only be responsible for the deductible if it's your fault. BS IMO.

You shouldn't have to pay any deductible IMO.

Having dealt with Progressive many times in the dealership business, I would not expect to ever see the $$. I had a similar issue with State Farm a number of years back, I didn't pay the deductible at all and never heard any more about it. Not sure that'd happen today though.

I paid cash for the new car in 2020 and put full coverage ins on it with a $500 detuctable, car was legally parked on the street when the IDIOT Amazon Big gray van driver decided to back up into my yard instead of using the Hammerhead turn around 1 house down, after backing into my yard he cut his van on his driver side into the front driver side of our car, seen he was tight to our car but kept going forward causing damage to both vehicles, then when I told him in front of 2 officers he was a FUCKING IDIOT, he said it was an accident so I called him a FUCKING IDIOT 2 more times then figured I better shut up but cops didn't say anything to me, and weren't going to ticket him till I started Bitching so they ticketed him for a non moving violation, pisses me off that now our car has an accident report, devalued, and I had to shell out $500 for the Fun Experience LOL, Progressive said I either go through them and pay $500 for the car to be repaired or wait for the At Fault drivers ins to pay and we wanted the car repaired ASAP, Prog also said I'd be reimbursed the $500 by the other ins co. Edit He was trying to Not hit the car on the other side where he had made a delivery

I didn’t get that you were waiting on a reimbursement of your deductible. So in a way, they worked it out, if not as quickly as you wanted. Hope they get it for you soon!
